Larry? Bob? Care to weigh in?
I told my husband last night, "You have to see this article," (meaning this one, natch) and he said, "This is going to make me angry, isn't it?"
She was abandoned as a puppy in the trailer park down the street. I said we'd take her until we found her a permanent home. That was fourteen years ago. I'm a sucker for a pretty face :)
After Grendel (our Dalmatian) ate a peanut butter and chocolate chip sammich (not mine) the Emergency vet told us to give him a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide to get him to throw up.
Our BK is getting too old for the cold. That's not snow over her eyes; her eyebrows have turned white :(
He's a handsome fella
My friend went with us to the stock dog trials the next year, because she was now a fan, (How can you NOT be?) and the year after that she moved to Winnipeg. I called her from the trials and held my phone up so she could hear the announcer :) She still talks about 'Tex', the celebrity Border Collie.
He's gorgeous.
We're showing off our dogs?!
I live in rural Alberta, where every BC is a working dog (my personal rural part, not Alberta as a whole) and took a friend from the city to see a stock dog competition at one of the local rodeos. Before it started, all she could say was, "Really? We're going to watch a bunch of dogs chase sheep?" Nose in the air,…
You're adorable :)
Breeding for breed specific looks is a lot different than breeding for purpose. A good day for a daschund was to run ten miles and kill something (they fit excellently into burrows to hunt rabbits, ground squirrels and even badgers). Now the poor bastards have hip dysplaxia from breeding for a certain look instead of…
This is why Border Collie associations don't want the breed recognized by the AKC. It's the perfect way to ruin a good working dog.
Does anyone else want to shag Sherlock?
Oh, you're a little late to this over-crowded party, kitkat :)
Girl can't win.
I talked about this on Group Think on the weekend: I know a woman from around town (she's on the School Board and we live in a small town) whose children were all grown when my son was born. One of her boys (one of the twins) died from complications getting his tonsils out when he was around ten. I asked her how you…
I am so, so sorry.
That's what being in shock is. Doing things one wouldn't normally do.
