90% of the comments on Deadspin are insincere sarcasm, and the other 50% are whinging Boston or St. Louis fans

It’s pretty clear we’re reaching the point where Trump won’t be able to resist firing Sessions, consequences be damned. That’ll be the inflection point where we either reclaim our democracy or say goodbye to it forever.

We’re getting pretty far into the splitting of hairs here, so I think we’ll have to agree to disagree.

That’s precisely the point that Jones is making, that people use arguments like this to try to pressure players into giving up their rights.

Well the thing about so-called gaffes is that unfortunately sometimes things get labeled as such that don’t deserve to be, and I think that might be what Katherine was getting at by putting the word “gaffe” in quotes. Like John Kerry windsurfing or Michael Dukakis in the tank supposedly being gaffes. There was nothing

That is spectacular. Adam Jones for commissioner. Adam Jones for president.

I respect where you’re coming from. I can’t get to where I totally agree with you, but I get it.

Sure it’s understandable and totally reasonable. It’s also an indicator that she’s not remotely one of us common folk. I think she legitimately believe in passing legislation that makes life better for ordinary Americans, but she’s certainly not one of us. And that insulation could be part of why she never really got

Agreed, they are not the same. One is several orders of magnitude worse than the other. But there is at least a thin strand of connectivity between the two in that they make ordinary people feel disconnected from politicians. Massive wealth and privilege tends to make people forget what it’s like for us mere mortals

That’s nonsense. Saying that Hillary has flaws is not the same as saying that Hillary’s flaws are indistinguishable from Trump’s. Hillary was a B- grade presidential candidate with a lot that I liked and a lot that I didn’t like. Trump was the worst major party nominee since before the Civil War. But that doesn’t mean

I'm betting that Spicer has it because no one thought to ask for it back.

Honest question: Does Trump even know where his own ID is? I’m sure one of his lackeys is in charge of holding it, but given how incompetent that crew is, I wouldn’t be surprised if no one’s quite sure which lackey has it.

I voted for Hillary, but let’s not pretend she was a perfect candidate. She’s fair game for jabs.

I dunno, Moffat might think that fans aren't ready for the time traveler's wife to be a woman.

I can tell you that garbage little community newspapers on the verge of going under, using freelancers with minimal writing skills, are still paying $50 per story. Which is wholly inadequate in this day and age and yet an order of magnitude greater than what SB Nation is paying.

Exactly. It happened to the Chicago Tribune a few years back, they got a bit too pushy with their freelancers and those folks got PAID.

I think SB Nation and Vox are getting a little bit careless here. You can’t be giving this degree of instructions to “contractors” without risking that down the road some judge might reclassify them as employees and order you to give them all the back pay they were denied. True contractors, by law, have to get a lot

It was a 7-year exercise in carefully calibrated and ratcheted tension. Most TV shows can’t maintain any tension through a single scene, let alone across the span of years.

All great points, plus there’s the quality of the data itself. IMBD scores are notoriously unreliable. When you have a population of reviewers who are self-selecting, the opportunity to game the system is immense.

I watched it when it originally aired and am in the middle of my first re-watch since then. I pretty much agree with all of your points.
