that’s so fucking dumb. Most of the characters in the Star Wars movies are pretty gender neutral outside of Han Solo hitting on Princess Leia and Luke being jealous. I don’t remember any scenes of Yoda telling Luke he had to “nut up” or that he “...force lifts those rocks like a girl.”

The best anti war movies usually arrive many years after the conflict (Apocalypse Now, Platoon, The Longest Day, hell Saving Private Ryan was 53 years tardy on that score).

My main beef with The Last Jedi is that they flirted with moral ambiguity with Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker and then just shrugged and boiled it down to “He’s just like all the other villains in this series: Moustache Twirling Evil!” and by default Luke and his buddies are back where they started 30 years ago.
