Michael Keaton is a God.

I was 12 when it came out and it was so fun I even got over my disappointmwnt that it was an Indiana Jones clone instead of a horror/monster movie.

“I SAID I dont like EHHHGGGG on my GODDAMN FACE!” (Blows away his henchman)

Your probably REALLY like Carlito’s Way I’m bettin’...

She’s barely in the movie, but she looks great and her costumes are well designed (Same for Debi Mazar as Spice)... too bad they didn’t just cut TwoFace out and beef up their roles....

As bad as that movie is, the real story here seems to be what a drama queen your buddy was back in the 90's...

shit, I should have read down before posting the same thing. 90's blockbusters and their mediocrity really made me wise beyond my years in knowing how disappointing sequels can be.

the real question: How cheaply did WB sell the sequel rights to television? Maybe they knew what a turkey it was. The original probably had a higher price tag.

original Ace Ventura is an actual movie that happens to have Jim Carrey mugging. The sequel was heartbreaking garbage (except for the Monopoly Guy) for 9 year old me.

I remember loving this movie because of him, despite finding almost every other aspect of the film inferior to Tim Burton’s. Jim Carrey carried this fucking movie on his shoulders like fucking Atlas. Still embarassing to revisit.

I spent most of the 90's entertaining my family by memorizing all the best scenes from Carrey’s 93-97 heyday. Particularly The Mask, Dumb & Dumber, and this movie. Everybody thought it was great, including adults in their 40's (maybe they were just humoring me, but I think Jim Carrey and the 90's is sort of like Jerry

It came out when I was 12 so I REALLy didn’t understand how people could have found Luke annoying in the original, I mean, had they SEEN Jake Lloyd’s acting?

Are you sure that wouldn’t have been preferable? At least it’d be memorable.. all I can ever remember about The Phantom Menace is Natalie Portman’s costumes, Liam Neeson’s beard, and the color beige.

Forever and Batman & Robin actually prepared me for the inevitable disappointment of The Phantom Menace. I started watching horror sequels soon after this and got the message pretty quick: More of what you liked before can end up quite disastrous.

Tremors has been slowly working its way up my list of favorite movies of all time bit by bit for the past 25 years.... it cracked my Top 20 a few years ago and I’m betting once I’m old and frail it’ll be top 5. I like that movie so much I always watch the sequels as a follow up (even the prequel isn’t half bad). Dunno

“My dear, why did you have to buy those dreadful paintings by that painter, what was his name?”

”Pablo Picasso”

”He won’t amount to a thing! Mark my words....”

“Fuck this cowboy shit! With a ‘hey there, ho there’ MOTHERFUCKER!”

It’s too bad that the Schumacher who made Lost Boys and Flatliners didn’t show up to make a Batman movie. Say what you will about those films, but they look excellent.

Whenever someone mentions the law, I still like to slip in my best Stallone impression and go, “I AM THE LAW!”

some people on this thread would call you an evil troll for not getting on board with “the message”. They know you’re wrong and you’re opinion is wrong and you should feel bad about it because they’re right, like they always are.
