well. i took 'mistakes happen' as a lie (garnet has some line at the end that makes it sound that way) but we also know from the first sardonyx episode and the story for steven (er, i think that's right? the garnet creation ep) that future vision is limited by the parameters sapphire can foresee in the first place. so

yea quite possibly-i just dont' remember it happening throughout the show (but that could be my own bias), so seems odd that it feels like a thing all of a sudden. and it just seems a bit ominous in its placement. shrug. guess we'll find out soon enough (or never. in which case you're right ;) )

Control F didn't help me…i'm sure others have commented but…how many shooting stars/comets have gone by during this string of episodes? no way there isn't pay off to that right?

So are we supposed to assume that it's unusual that Martin was piloting the comet? I was under the impression that Martin may *always* be the pilot of the comet, and, despite/because it's an agent of change, means he has the tendency to also commit cosmic crimes.

"Comfort and Joy" in Justice League is one of my all time holiday favs

Maybe i missed something, and this is a minor quibble- but was there a reason that Jess thought the bag was meth as opposed to something else? I felt like the buyin that it could be meth, and reveal it was not, would have just landed better if there were some obvious (is farcical) signifier like "METH' written out in

oh huh maybe!

I took BMO's hesitation solely to be because *he* promised to bring jake back, and it seems pretty clear that he couldn't do it and had to enlist the help of the Doctor Princess… not that he actually wanted jake to stay dead.

huh hadn't even thought of that as a possibility. i wonder if that'll happen.

I'm not arguing that she needs to be a more powerful villain- and agree, upping power scale tends to make things silly.

Interesting point- one of my regrets is not reading the ATLA comics, still need to get to that.

It's true they didn't really explain the motivation of the gang of villains until late in season (and, actually, i commented on that then too, and think the plot would've benefitted from explaining earlier). That said, there are two things:

i think Kuvira is plenty interesting, but (per my other reply) just don't feel like the stakes are nearly as high as last season (or season 2, but i wasn't nearly as fond of that plot)

probably. but it just feels like the stakes are comparably so much lower than the last, which is a bummer if it continues to feel tha tway for most of the season.

Still waiting on a twist of new big bad or something happening to Kuvira to make her worth being the series finale obstacle.

hahah yea! honestly i felt that the 'wooden' aspects Oliver didn't like were defining characteristics of the character. especially, in retrospect after the 'let go your earthly tether' moment, it's perfectly fitting that he should sound as if he were completely detached (wooden/emotionless) throughout

oh i like that idea. also (and this was mentioned in the review) hope they actually make good on the spirit world meets real world plot thread, which was basically abandoned after its effects in season 3 premiere (minus some helpful fluffy spirits hanging about)

yea- i was almost expecting the reveal of seeing the bandits in her employ by the end of the episode. don't think it will take long either way.

Kuvira definitely going to be *a* villain, but hoping she is not the 'big bad' of the season, unless there's a lot more to what's going on with her. If this were season 2, i'd be down with another bender just trying to take over the world, but it's the last season, and especially after a full group of anarchic

Loved this season. My only disappointment was how heavily last season finale, and then this season premier, signposted that spirit intrusion onto physical world would be a big change with big consequences… but then that was completely sidelined by red lotus. Of course, airbender existence was a result of this, but
