I love wearing daypacks when travelling. I don't have that constant "omg where is my purse?" feeling and there's usually enough space to fit a few things in so I don't have to carry shopping bags (which again, I'm in fear of losing or having stolen). It's nice to just keep everything in one place!
For me personally, I pack a suitcase for anything longer than 3 days. I love backpacks but I can't carry very much weight around without ending up in pain by the end of the day, plus they can be cumbersome on public transportation - I find I'm always slinging them on/off my shoulder.
Agreed! I'm surprised how many adamant double-spacers there are here.
Also, if you're applying for a job in publishing, double spaces between sentences is unequivocally incorrect and using them will display your ignorance of the industry (and yes, any hiring manager with experience will spot them immediately). I can't think of a single style guide that suggests using two spaces at the…
I work in publishing management, and I would be far less likely to interview someone who had inserted two spaces between their sentences. Single spaces between sentences is absolutely standard in the publishing world. Typesetters always take double spaces out when preparing texts for printing, and editors often do…
Larry is the WORST.
Whaaaaat? Just that screenshot is completely awful. Jeezus.
Noxzema does make a cold cream, but I'm not sure exactly how similar it is to other brands like Ponds. The camphor and menthol in most Noxzema products is too harsh for my skin, personally!
I love cold cream for just this reason! It's a quick and CHEAP makeup remover for people who (like me) have drier skin.
Keep a small notebook for jotting down what you want to look up later - or use the comments function in Word. If it affects the text you're working on, highlight the section you're not sure about in red so you can come back to it later.
Considering he's already written more words than 90% of the planet, I think his productivity is just fine as it is. I'd rather have him working at a pace that he's comfortable with (and feeding his mind by doing other projects that appeal to him) than bowing to fan pressure and churning out subpar work more quickly.
Maybe I'm just slow, but it takes me pretty much exactly 40 minutes to get ready without makeup in the mornings. I take a shower, moisturise my face, blow dry my hair, find underwear and socks, pick out clothes and put them on, use my inhaler and brush my teeth - it all adds up. Though I'm not a morning person and I…
My husband and I got second-hand wedding rings. Hell, he proposed without a ring at all and my mom ended up buying me a ring (a small aquamarine on clearance) to wear because she thought it was weird that I didn't have an engagement ring. I didn't care, though, I just wanted to hurry up and marry the guy!
Yeah, it's really shocking (but not surprising) how quick people were to blame Monica instead of the real perpetrator.
These stories are all hosted on Pottermore, her (free to access) website. So no money printing needed.
I completely agree with this. It makes me cringe when liberals (And I often proudly include myself in that category!) defend him by saying things like "In France that's totally normal and nobody would bat an eyelid". Regardless of your feelings about whether a politician's personal life should be up for media…
Aw, thank you! I'm still not great at asking for help but I've been fortunate to have wonderful friends. :)
As someone whose husband died of cancer, I second this. People who are carers or are grieving or going through an emotional upheaval in their lives aren't well equipped to ask for what they need. So if you're close to someone in that kind of situation, do whatever you can think of to help even if you're not sure it's…
I love this suggestion and I wish I had seen it when my mom was caring for my grandmother - she never really had a break and I think this would have given her some much-needed boundaries (my grandmother was extremely demanding and even the nurses wouldn't deal with her by the end). My mom would still have visited my…
