I think if you ca keep your engine in the small optimum performance band there are real savings to be made, however when you are looking at interstate trucks, most of their lifetime is already in this optimum band since transmissions are set up in a way that they are in that band when cruising.

please no, i do not dislike him, but he is just not the right person. It would be a top gear with two richard hammonds or two james mays+ i found the interplay between tanner and james in one of the last episodes quite poor. You need a baboon like clarkson

sorry, I take that back. Truly

taken back

You do know I also made a point next to that pissing contest?

That insult was even less thought trough than your last insult. I need to grab a time machine? Why? It is not me who made references to the eighties, and now you referenced that time again. What? Are the only cultural significant facts that you posses from the eighties, you do know it's 2015?

Your argument is illogical, does a cop not get the same "innocent until proven" that the biker gets? For all we know that biker was a massmurderer that the cop was trying to stop. You don't know, so give the cop the same rights as the biker... You condemn the cop without having all the evidence, I thought this was

maybe he flashed his credentials. How can you tell he didn't? Maybe the cop was wearing a uniform with badge and all? Maybe the cop was even eating a donut... I do not understand how many of you would just flee the scene if a cop tried to pull you over. Unmarked cars exist, confirm you have seen him, by either

stupid question, but why did the guy behind the cop honk? I mean, isn't it illegal to honk when it is not needed to alert other drivers (for example when somebody wants to merge on a lane where you are driving and you are in his blind spot, then you can honk, but when a cop pulls somebody over, or tries to, I don't

I know, but real tech it is not. I mean how hard is it to either couple a pressure switch or a g-force meter with a few lightbulbs. I think I can do it with an arduino in 2 minutes, so it was never a question of tech, but more of legislation and implementation. But i don't know if other manufacturers are doing it, but

sweet good to know, thanks for the info

ps I also said a red it a while back. Maybe 15 years is a while back in my head, but who am I, My brain still sometimes instantaneously thinks pentium 4 processors are the fastest...

ps i also did not say when i red it:). It was in a bmw magaine, but it might have been 15 years back, who knows, my brain works in mysterious ways, not to say it sometimes does not work at all :)

yes but is this also the case in the usa?

yes but do you live in the usa and is it a car sold in the usa(not imported by 3rd party). I know my bmw flashes the brake lights when abs is kicking in and when i come to a complete stop it automaticly turns the hazards on, but is this also the case in the usa?

the myriad of auto engineers audi supplied made sure of that. You can easily program these cars to do anything. Maybe they even just programmed the front differential(if it's electronic) to just disconnect

they had to include it in P.M. because there was no dealership or garage to be found that would work on french cars, so people had to do their own repairs:) Just kidding, kinda

I think i red somewhere that bmw was thinking of implementing or at least testing this very same idea of yours, but that us regulations wouldn't allow it...

You might have a point there, but most batteries for electronic devices are rated for about 500-1000x full cycles (so if you use your laptop till it's 50% and reload it, it would count as 0.5 of a cycle) before they begin loosing capacity. Your solution would mean my 5 year old laptop's battery would be perfect once

Very true, but I am guessing since he is considered for "world's best dad award" he can manage it :) I understand you are not going to watch your kid every second of the day, but when he is sitting on/controlling an 18HP machine, you are going to watch him without blinking (that is what I would do at least, but not a
