Just inferring here, but sounds like Tanooki means people are trying to give an impression of being “spirit forward” or “balanced” cocktail drinkers when they really just want stronger drinks.

Man this review is way off mark. I went to an early showing today mostly for the event aspect (MCU is probably closest thing to a contemporary Star Wars) and spectacle and left with a much different take.

I had no context for the cult and really felt like it came off poorly in the first two episodes. The members were arrogant, soulless self-centered yuppies who blamed everything on the local people and took no responsibility at all for creating a negative situation and space. As a whole, by the mid-point, Sheela and

    Ugh Kinja.

Yeah no pagination is a pain to deal with on the long threads for sure.

Posting pictures is the worst part about Kinja followed by grey posts.

I know people had issues with registration when Disqus was implemented, but other than the ads killing load times, what is wrong with Disqus? It works, on Kinja it's impossible to have conversations that go anywhere off-topic.

I read a few articles a day across the different gizmodo brands in spite of the terrible experience provided by Kinja; infinite scrolling, no nested comments, rich-media in comments because lolmemes, and greys for fun censorship. The quality of writing has been dropping on these sites though, probably just going to

If the gringos in the world of GoT have figured out how to butterfly/dolphin kick* he can quickly swim out without both arms still.

    SHIT WAS FUCKING RIGHTEOUS.

    Well he's already the Frankenstein…

I present to you Lord Stephen of House Miller, First of his Name: The Cowboy of the Stars; The Gangster of Eros; He who Picks, Grins, and Sins; The Player in the Sun; The Joker who Smokes; The Toker in Midnight.

I don't know why I watch the shit these guys make, I am consistently disappointed by most of their output. Anyway, episode one sucks and is very derivative, but it's short so might be worth checking out future episodes.

Yeah I was surprised by the negativity as well. More of it seems based on the premise being "sub-par Breaking Bad" but the shows are so drastically different (barring some plot points that are similar to BB's season 4) that I assume people either aren't watching based solely on this review or don't enjoy Bateman in a

He's laundering money, not selling drugs.

Linney is really good in the show. I didn't like the finale but the review here is low-balling the show, I'd go C+ to B- as the floor. I think it would have been better at 8 episodes with one or two of the plot arcs removed or streamlined.

I found Marty Byrd much more satisfying and likeable as a protagonist than Walter White (no campy gimmicks, no side-stepping guilt, has some sort of ethics with regard to his family) and I think the writing for the family (and their performance) is much better than Breaking Bad and similar shows. Fact there isn't a

Marty Byrd isn't bored (but he is boring) and his arc and characterizations are very different from Walter White; majority of similarities are with some parts of season 4. Show is better than a C- but the finale really jumps the shark.

The Ozarks are also discussed by Marty and his friend/partner earlier in the episode.
