the same way that Civil War re-enactors (the intersection of the set of whom with the set of gun nuts is very large) have the fantasy of dying gloriously to preserve the right to buy and sell other people and compel their labor at pain of death.

Here’s a fun exercise. Ask all of your neighbors if they would prefer a gun shop or sex toy shop on your street.

Here in Texas I can’t buy a bag of weed which has killed no one. But there is a guy flipping a sign showing me where I can buy a fucking AR-15 in downtown Austin.

All because someone’s drunk uncle nailed little Timmy in the head with one. But when drunk uncle nails little Timmy in the brain with a live round it’s all “whoa, WHOA, let’s not start talking crazy here!”.

Maybe we do need a civil war in this country, so the gun nuts can live out their fantasies of dying gloriously to preserve their freedom to kill other people, the same way that Civil War re-enactors (the intersection of the set of whom with the set of gun nuts is very large) have the fantasy of dying gloriously to

Once a coworker told me that even after Sandy Hook he’s never giving up his guns, I realized any attempt at a discussion about it was completely over.

It is extremely difficult to screw in a screw without a screwdriver. Hard to tighten a nut without a wrench. Hard to shoot someone without a gun. Most people understand that tools are purpose-built.

I really fail to see why gun ownership is the hill that the Republicans chose to die on (pun intended). Kimmel started the show (before this monologue) with a clip of Mr. Rogers talking about being kind to others. The whole thing was well crafted and movingly delivered. He’s turning into a great voice of conscience.

Was seeing clips of this on MSNBC last night. Watching this funny man come close to breaking down just gutted me.

Wait, you can’t blame WI and our ridiculously lax gun laws for all of the guns in Chicago! We’re busy blaming “people from Chicago” for every crime that happens in Madison!

People who name drop Chicago care as much about young black kids being shot as I care about Kim Kardashian’s favorite toothpaste. They wouldn’t piss on Chicago to put out a fire

Also known as Indiana, the gun crossroads of America. Come for some wholesome fun, leave with some murdering guns.

“I think if you look to Chicago, where you had over 4,000 victims of gun-related crimes last year, they have the strictest gun laws in the country. Trickle-down economics certainly haven’t helped there.”

It’s an Island (of Gun Control) surrounded by a really big Ocean (of gun nuts)

If you are here to say “not all gun owners” in a response to a discussion about gun control:

Seriously.
