What...?

So you stand for people’s right to protest? Because that’s what the taking a knee is. You may not agree with what they’re protesting, but they have a right to do so. Just like you have a right to not fund a corporation for...providing you with the means to watch it? Why, exactly, are people upset with satellite

Throwing random periods at sentences is the redneck version of the handclap between words.

Nobody is gonna see this, but for all the white folk freaking out, here are a few tips. As someone from a mixed race family who came out looking white, I’m quite aware of the power my skin has in society. I know I’m privileged in a way my aunts aren’t and my grandma wasn’t. I know white people don’t get it. I don’t

I’m sorry you’re dealing with all of that. IndianaJoan had some great advice.

You’re right, the term is inaccurate and when referring to such a sensitive subject I should be more clear.

I probably should have been more clear. What’s in my head doesn’t always translate to words, especially when Kinja hates me and keeps starting me over at the beginning!

There’s quite a bit of science out there regarding transgender people. It’s innate and has more to do with how someone’s actual brain is hardwired (this is a rather simplistic explanation, I know). There are differences in the brains of men and women and studies are showing that male-to-female transgender brains are

They knew she had mental health issues- they discussed it on their way. Two of them were sent out because of the incident that occurred last time the police were sent out. AND it doesn’t matter if the situation starts off calm. If they can’t handle a situation that isn’t calm and relaxed, they probably shouldn’t be

But it’s possible that the police could have deescalated the situation. If you’re truly trying to be unbiased, then I would think you’d acknowledge that yes, she may have escalated the situation BUT the police should be trained to handle that. And if they couldn’t have deescalated it then I’m sure there were better

It’s interesting that you took from my statement I wasn’t interested in lowering the overall number of deaths. Where, exactly, did you come up with that?

Greg Abbott- TX gov- tried to sneak in a law where women had to pay for funerals for abortions and miscarriages. Yes, TX women know what conservatives are up to (judge put a pause on that).

I think we have a more of a problem than a small number of mentally ill people that shouldn’t have a gun or access to a gun. This is more than mass shootings- it’s the guy that gets drunk and shoots his wife; it’s the guy who is shot in a robbery. We can pretend that the U.S. doesn’t have a problem unless it’s a group

I completely forgot about Flatliners until I saw this!

I get what you’re saying, maybe I should have been more clear. The defense can’t get up there and half-ass it even if their client is guilty, so while I kinda hate the blame-the-victim strategy, I understand that he has an ethical duty to defend his client. I just love that the cop wasn’t making it easy for him.

I get that the defense has to (and should, honestly) go the distance to defend his client. Watching someone fuck up a carefully planned cross, though, can be a beautiful thing. The defense was trying to use cross to sell their story and the cop didn’t let him. Well done, Officer!

The most they can do now is fire him. I hope they did, I can’t remember what it said.

“Battery operated and portable” it’s “7 1/2 inches long” and the “perfect size for home use and travel.”

I know. Many don’t. It just drives me crazy that people who are already serving time, which is what we’ve said as a society is an acceptable punishment, are subject to what is basically torture and most people shrug.
