I suppose we should cancel Christmas! According to some people, many Christmas traditions, including the date on the western Christian calendar, was based off Saturnalia, a holiday celebrated in the Roman Empire! They gave gifts, just like many of us do in December! #justsayin

My Instagram post, which includes a

Well, even if you have zero bridesmaids/groomsmen, you’re still going to need witnesses. I had three, including my maid of honour. Funny thing: My parents were in their early 20s when they married, but they only had a maid of honour and a best man. I don’t know if it was the culture at the time (in Hong Kong) or maybe

I am NOT surprised. European countries (especially outside of the UK) are horrible at helping immigrants integrate into society. Even though we aren’t even close to perfect, we tend to do a better job this side of the Atlantic. Most immigrants and children of immigrants I know here in the Toronto area feel quite

Though Biebs is a dick himself, no?

You know what bugs me? Same-sex marriage is legal in Ireland, but they still have strict anti-abortion laws. WTF?!!!

I don’t think Caitlyn deserves it either, but not because she was born a man. There are many transpeople out there who are going through the SAME THING Caitlyn went through when she was still Bruce, but no one is declaring ANY of them heros. Caitlyn is only being awarded this because she’s connected with a famous

If one has to be 15 to go in, I wonder whether anyone would even go! I read the Pippi books when I was nine or 10. As for books being criticized, well, you have to consider WHEN the books were written. It isn’t acceptable NOW, and one wouldn’t write a book with that kind of language NOW (unless it was a period piece -

Ha! My Hong Kong relatives (and classmates who’ve moved back) talk about how trashy/rude mainland immigrants are! And many are descendents of mainland refugees who crossed over after WWII!

Honestly, I still wouldn’t have gone. I wouldn’t want to sit through that idiot talking nonsense.

So people asking me why I’m Christian (over, say, Buddhist, because I’m Asian) isn’t discriminatory? And I don’t mean in a curious tone (because I’m okay with that - especially from older people (as in 75+) who are a bit more isolated. It’s the WTF are you not what I think you’re supposed to be, often from people in

Some of it might be cultural, in that young people, particularly women, aren’t supposed to leave home until they’re married (or going to school/have a job out of town). And since people are marrying later and later...

Will definitely watch! I FLOVED the first one - just about any child of immigrants can relate!!!

This can never be proven, but there’s school discrimination. I dabbled in the PR world for a bit in the mid 2000s and was asked SEVERAL TIMES at interviews how “I liked” the PR program I took. Because the woman who ran it at the time had a “reputation.” They also seemed to like grads from a certain school (not mine).

Discrimination doesn’t always come from white males. I’ve had more comments from white females and non-whites (both male and female) than from white dudes.

And that is discrimination in itself. Which is probably why it’s overlooked.

ESPECIALLY in tech.

Interesting! It could be because the some of the discrimination comes from people who are discriminated themselves. In my experience, blacks and Eastern Europeans (not immigrant, but children or grandchildren of immigrants and usually NOT Christian) tend to be the rudest (I’ve been why I went to such-and-such a school

Interesting that Asians are not included in the study. I’d assume that they’d be somewhere in the teens to low 20s, percentage-wise? And can one consider it discriminatory by NOT including Asians? That said, I’ve faced MORE discrimination from non-whites than from whites and from white people, usually “ethnic” whites

This is a white people problem? I thought it was an all middle class people problem.

I’m pretty lucky at LOFT, Ann Taylor and Banana Republic.
