@tiredfairy: ugh. yeah, I try to put those out of my head, since they thankfully don't have any impact on my life now. but it's a painful and disenfranchising feeling.

@grace darling: "the majority of people who have not suffered from depression seem to think that it's the same as being 'sad' or 'down'; that it doesn't have physical manifestations (hello, nausea and dizziness); that you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps; that they've 'been there', and can empathize, when they

I find that any time I've disclosed my diagnosis, since I often try to wait until the person has a less biased view of me, I get the "you don't seem like the type" reaction.

@deleahrium: The job in the first story, I'd call out sick at certain points in my period if I didn't already have the day off, because the same boss would call me out (usually to other people) if I spent too much time in the bathroom, or would be generally very stressful to work with and then mock anyone who he'd see

I had started a new job after balancing my old job (which was particularly stressful) with an internship there. My doctor and I had made some changes to my medication and I did not react well - although I didn't have to miss work, I was a few minutes late a few times and a bit sluggish through the day. Chrome. the combined address/search bar is the best thing I never knew I wanted. extensions are great, themes are easy to apply. that's all I need.

@Platypus Man: while we have our browsers of choice at home, a lot of people work in offices and check LH/etc from work computers outfitted with whatever browser the IT department chose. my data would show a different option than my actual preference.

@lawlover: ...I don't know if I could handle that!

I checked out the site, and I think the dress looks different on Beth because she has the drawstring pulled further, making more ruching? From the larger view, it seems like that may be possible/the case...

man, y'all can hate, but I dig it. I have countless cheesy cemetery-centric cock rock CDs in my collection (you know, from when people gave out CDs and not download links) but next to none of them have female fronts. and she's one of the better ones.

@marciax3: "...that she was angling to get herself a donated chemical peel and rhinoplasty from some sympathetic plastic surgeon."

why has no one been arrested if they have photos?

I think it's great that a lot of commenters are standing up for Lila, but I do think it's important to ask these questions and it doesn't necessarily mean the author is putting her down for her choices.

that's ok, all my pictures have me with my mouth open. I'm not sure why it happens. I see a camera and I do dramatic-excited-gasp (often with jazz hands or shrugging shoulders). she might just do it instinctively.

are we sure the walls are entirely stop-motion? I'm confused about why, on the Paris wall, you see it appear differently at different times.

@Justin: really. to be fair, I'm talking my mom/aunt/grandma. (dad & brother are computer geeks, so they're exempt from this practice) it kind of drove me crazy at first, but I think that enough people do this (late adopters, mostly, I'm sure) that it may be part of the reason Chrome is built that way.

@Justin: purely anecdotal, but most of my family uses google/search bar to find websites, not the URL. I use Chrome, where the address bar IS the search bar (vice versa), so same-diff.
