I think it’s one of the cases where there is actually a bias against men. It’s generally thought that taking kids from the mom is more damaging to them, so women tend to win custody unless they’re blatantly terrible people

The opening action scene went from pretty badass to surprisingly dull once it became a CG fest where the helicopters and even the canyon walls all had a plastic texture.

I think they have a point actually. While the Nolan movies were dark in tone, they reveled in taking inspiration from crime/spy movies and mixing them together well. The scenes that are very dark are always for a specific purpose.

Part of them doing it right is using characters that are parodies and not the real properties so as not to betray the spirit of the og character. And even then, the Boys has moments that are just cheaply cynical shock value

Somehow him being a murdering clown is never enough of a gimmick. Reminds me of DC reinventing him as Leatherface Joker a few years back
