this way they can turn it into their creative nonfiction class and still get credit. Yea this is an awful self indulgent review

Thank you for saying that about the dialogue. There is something flat and dull about it since the first lines of Ep.1 that I find it hard to put a finger on but occasionally feels fan-movie-esque (Boba Fett had a similar issue).

We don’t know for sure he can’t discern the difference in quality between those two. I think it’s fair to say he’s not talking about every movie made, and to his credit 90% of stuff hitting theaters, if it’s not terrible, is completely forgettable and serving as some kind of advertisement

She’s distinguishing herself from the rest of the marvel pack by being...more wacky. got it

The issue is def the marketing. Logan Paul’s fan base is mostly teen and preteen kids who can get caffeine already, true (as well as many other drugs), but don’t need it promoted. I think the biggest grey area is what kind of regulation should we have with ads on social media. Regardless of stated intent or audience

It does seem like a more worthy target would be games like Assassin’s Creed or Ghost of Tsushima where you ride around eliminating entire groups of people as the hero without any consequence on the apparently right side of history. I agree that the hunting/foraging aspect of a lot of modern games can feel bizarrely

Ah i see. But then it wasn’t Smith that was trying to get that movie made then, right? Is there a script out there for it?

Something about “it’s giving” always sounds like a line from Zoolander

Following the time he nearly made a Superman movie in which Nicolas Cage fought a giant spider

“Uncharted is one of my favorite series, and I love me a slow-paced, methodical climb up some crumbling ruins”

So interesting to note: I think the only one actually high on set was Seth Rogen. iirc McBride, James Franco and the rest were all smoking fake weed. Franco (who is less convincing in other things) nails the speech patterns and body language of that kind of character, which is harder than it looks

Agreed. The best recent comedy that pulls off “believably stoned” I can think of is Pineapple Express. I will defend that movie for that reason. The lack of attention span, the under-reacting/overreacting to stressful scenarios at the perfect time, the mood swings. There are subtleties to it

So a big difference between serious American and British actors is that generally speaking, the British will still see a movie role as a job and take on every kind of role if they know they can do it, whereas American actors tend to take themselves and their persona more seriously and limit their roles if they have

Ok thanks for the deep insight with plenty of convincing counterarguments

Haven’t seen the last episode yet if that’s what you’re referring to...bud. But the Joel of the game is, yes, morally ambiguous (he would be less so if the Fireflies weren’t presented as kinda shitty, violent people too—despite TLOU2 wanting to retcon it a bit)

Your tone is a little patronizing especially after having to walk back your point. It’s obviously not open and shut if Joel is a monster. The ambiguity of love and humanity is kind of the point of the story

Now they can look like Spider-verse knockoffs!

I generally like Aaron as a writer but his biggest weakness is needing to tack on sentimentality (and forced humor)

I’m no Snyder fan, but honestly I could see him making a pretty badass Star Wars spin-off. Those lightsaber fights would be nuts

It’s the first time i can remember we see actual people have to deal with the empires and corporations that doesn’t just become a hero quest. Plus it’s a decent spy plot with Dostoevskian tones. The best written star wars has ever been
