They’re not bad by any means, but when I hear people trying to give them credit as having their own sound, I just think you can’t just accidentally sound exactly like another band, down to the vocals, rhythm and appearance…

Agreed on Punisher. He needs to be dealing out absurd carnage to mafiosos. The show became pretty decent but focused too much on its own realism and pathos. And as much as I like Bernthal in the role, Punisher is not supposed to be all that emotional

I think you’re right. He’s critical of these heroes but he doesn’t hate them. He’s sub-textually pointing out the ridiculous aspects of the genre and how it relates to the flaws of our society. Superheroism is a ridiculous, fetishized, impossible ideal --even if real heroism exists.
