I absolutely love this show. It’s not perfect and some of the effects are BAD but I can tell it was made by people who love and admire the source material and that really shines through. 

The nostalgia for the games really puts a positive, largely misleading spin on the remaster. 343 and Microsoft have messed with so much of the original system, that it feels more like a soulless husk than a remastered game. The biggest offender here is the progression.

That’s ok, your lost dollars will easily be made up by the many many thousands who will see it now that it doesn’t look like a pile of steaming dog excrement.

WotC would only own what was specifically purchased with TSR.  There was plenty of D&D related material that was created outside of TSR, despite it's penchant for lawsuits, that would remain under the copyright of the creator.
