Vaporware. Where the fuck is the Fisker Ocean, the $29k electric SUV with vegan leather and other buzzword bullshit?  It’s nowhere, just like this Pear will be.

They’ve “had reports”! stop the presses, theres been some reports. The media is so disparate to paint the Ottowa protests as violent and angry. Instead people are jubilant and hugging each other.

I think the context was that they had some weird lights illuminated, that aren’t ok to use on the road. So he pulled them over to say, turn that shit off. At one point he says “wait until you get there”. So he was doing his job, no arrest is warranted for that. They weren’t blocking the road or anything.

Hey, I don’t come to the jalopnik comments section for reasonable takes like yours!  Stick to yelling at the sky like the rest of us!

Yeah, I couldn’t pass up the offer. Carvana came up from an initial offer around 26k to over 30 after I kept driving it for months more. Insane.

User name checks out.  (wtf, dude)

Yeah.  I don’t know what their algorithm was up to.  They first offered my ~26k in the summer, and I was like, DANG!  Then I waffled.  Another price quote in the early fall, up over 28.  Ok, now we’re talking, but what I would drive instead?  then I added several hundred more miles to my quote, and they topped 30k,

They are holding firm at 31.9k still.  1500 markup.  No one in their right mind would pay that, unless you have no other options and no idea how cheap it was initially offered for.

I mean, thats a pretty stupid take. It’s not like continued racism in his assembly plants offers tesla any financial gain here. It’s a problem, I’m sure he hates it. That said, he probably also has no idea how racism can actually hurt anyone.

That might be it!  I tried to tell them about other bodily fluid incidents and they didn’t seem to care.  ::shrug::

Just gotta relax your standards a bit, you know? Loads of good, reliable cars out there for $4-5k still.  I sold my ‘19 Golf Alltrack to Carvana for 30.5k after owning it for two years (8k more than I bought it for new) and replaced it with an ‘09 Jetta 2.5L 5-spd (that somehow only had 42k original miles).  Sure, its

I think that really scares them into much lower offers. Can’t trust the repair job until they have it in inventory.

So is the honda fit in this story, that they paid 20k for.

whoa thats low.  Accident history?

Thats why I jumped on a pretty clean 09 Jetta 2.5L 5-spd for $4500 when it popped on my local craigslist - temporary beater (though it only has 43k miles, and I’m having fun modding it). Carvana paid me $8k more for my alltrack than I did new.... couldn’t turn it down.

Man, almost any accident free car was a good investment between 2015-2019, if you could keep the miles low and flip it to carvana/carmax etc

Bought my 2019 VW Alltrack for $22,500 brand new off the dealer lot. 2 years, 15k miles, and 117 farts into the drivers seat later, Carvana paid me $30,477 for it. 3 months later and they still haven’t resold it.  I hope they have to eat a loss on it eventually.

That doesn’t sound like a very good way to get the trucks moved out of the way.

Yeah, like VAG.  Easily serviceable, affordable entry-level lux/sport.  7 out of 8 of mine have been 100% reliable.  We don’t talk about the 8th one.

How does walking around the car 3 times help?
