the red interior make me want to puke.

Dang. Sorry for your misfortune. Might be hard to see that steam at speed on the highway. At least you didn’t blow a hole in the engine block, yet (stop running it!)

So dissapointed with the id4.  Ugly, bland, unimpressive performance.  Not cheap.

But unfortunately it doesn’t really work that way.  The overpowered drivetrain is only adding 100 lbs or less to the vehicle weight.  Making the electric drive motors tiny won’t save much weight, sadly.

You might have a little sand in your hair, but Lucid played it calm and quiet.  They’ve been working on this car for close to a decade now, I think.  Similar to Rivian, they didn’t want to fire up the hype machine prematurely.  With the limited capacity production they have, whatever they make will likely sell easily.

Ok sorry if I am not explaining this well. The power numbers you see listed from a manufacturer are a MAXIMUM. This is not the continuous power delivery, it is the maximum you can ever extract.

Yeah I typed my comment real fast and then realized it might be reasonable to go out to dinner or parties with a nicer watch.

And who you are is... a giant Dbag who spends way too much money on watches, just to hope that random people notice it and are impressed? My $50 citizen does just fine. But TBH I have pencil wrists, else I might be into watches also lol.

Who the fuck wears two watches in a single day?  Do people really stop at home to swap watches?  rich people are so stupid

Surely you understand that Musk (and all the other billionaires) can borrow against the equity of his stock value, for roughly 0%, and have near infinite money without it being considered income.

I would love, one day, to sit down and talk to his financial advisors. Not, like, the ones having to do with Tesla the company, I mean the ones tasked with overseeing Elon’s personal finances. I bet they have some incredible stories.

I’m thinking the clouds of coolant steam coming out the tailpipe that they didn’t see when it was “low on power” were the missed warning sign.

Oh the engine failure was definitely a result of doing all this work on it.  The question is, was it the mechanic’s fault for a bad job, or just a bad idea to do all this work in the first place.

Oh man, I’m sorry. But it has to be said; the coolant flush from a shade tree mechanic was a poor idea. And why did it need EGR, throttle body and PCV? Were there obvious issues, or was this done as preventative (murderous) maintenance?

No, sorry but I fear you still don’t get it. Of course the actual maximum power is dictated by the design of the electric motor. But a 500kW motor isn’t that much bigger or heavier than a 250 kW motor. So the real limiting factor in power delivery on any modern EV is how much amperage you can pull from the battery

Electrical engineers can be some truly weird dudes. I mean, all engineers can. But EE’s love to hyper analyze deals and savings.  They basically get off on finding sneaky deals.

Are you seriously conflating your local property taxes with unrealized capital gains? You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Is he trying to save the clutch/drivetrain with those soft ass launches? Could definitely gain some time and mph with a proper launch. That pavement sucks ass though.

Reasonable. Probably better to ignore the trolls, but I get it. It does seem like most people who call all of CA a shithole are people who have never been there (or only to bad parts for work travel, etc) and get their images of it from cable news.

I can’t believe how many people still don’t understand how this works ( no offense) after 10+ years of news about electric cars.
