A shit load. I think we have answered the question of whether these tesla owners actually care about the environment whatsoever. Nawp, they just want to stroke their egos by vlogging about having the fanciest piece of tech.  Selfish, pathetic humans.

My take as well. This is some truly pathetic and shitty human behavoir.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Dude. Please don’t ever go out driving again in “circles and doing interstate ramp loops” just to satisfy a numerical score from a vague algorithm that only gives you some chance at beta testing slightly improved partial self-driving software.

I think you misconstrued my point. I don’t view this move as validation for texas or an obvious repudiation of cali politics. More so, I question why anyone thinks that they have to put up with the entire package of bullshit that is california, just for... the weather? I don’t get it.

Looks loaded the correct (most aerodynamic) way to me.  Chill.

I love the instinctual defensiveness of the pro California crowd. Is nice weather really worth the hassle and ridiculous expense, disastrous politics, etc? My sister lives in San Fran and somehow thinks walking her kids past grown men shitting on the sidewalk, and breathing wildfire smoke all summer long is just a

I don’t know how you could fuck up tomatoes that badly....? Our neighbors all start a couple hundred each spring and give them away. Or you buy them for $2 apiece at the farmers market. Plant once, water a bit early on to keep them alive, then sit back and have fresh tomatoes for 3-4 months. Mine are completely free;

Buy some land if you can.  Like, I would make it a top priority.

Indeed, BUT. The global population and future increase is not equally distributed.  We have 6 acres per person here in the contiguous US.... should be enough.

Ok, but how do we address the fact that having over 7 billion people on this planet is... not sustainable? The projected growth to 10 or 11 billion people is not equally distributed around the globe, either.

Bezactly.  Thanks for the reply to pull me out of the greys.

Look at how the colonists and settlers did it - quite succesfully, I would say. Or read the childrens book, the ox cart man. It takes constant work from your whole family, and avoiding bad luck.

Dharna... some of your links are pretty dubious. Groundwater pumping causes carbon emissions here in lush lower Michigan? Oh, because in California, they lose hydroelectric capacity? “wood stoves” are more damaging to the climate, but you link to mass produced pellets, burnt in pellet stoves? I burn storm blow down

So one of these tanks? Jesus this refinery is huge.

Does a dude have to suit up and go walk into that oil spray to activate the proper manual valves, or would it normally be automated? Perhaps an electrical failure here as well?

I don’t disagree with most of your points, capitalism (when properly regulated) can certainly self-correct and satisfy needs of humans. Unfortunately the externalities are not properly factored in. All the international trade you mentioned, for example, has a huge carbon footprint that is not accounted for whatsoever.

Sure, but my point is also that humans should also only eat what can be sustainably produced locally. Not enough land or resources to produce beef in Britain? Don’t fuckin eat so much of it, then.

I have my 100 deposit in, but will only buy the base model, mainly due to price. If ford was as conservative on range as I am hoping, maybe that ~230 miles goes closer to 300 in the right conditions. And an 8" screen in the dash with carplay is all I need for features (as long as the seats are heated).  I’m most

Capitalism is the reason global forests have been decimated, that unfettered carbon emissions are still (still!) encouraged and expanding, that countries have gone to war, killing millions... i could go on. Don’t get me wrong, I work for a corporation and enjoy buying and having stuff. So I’m don’t portend to know all
