A better Bowie laugh is on an outtake that was on the Ryko disk releases of his work in the 90s, “After Today”, a song that was meant to go on the Young Americans album. But was scrapped. At the end when the musicians decide to end playing, and he’s continuing his little end vamp, he abruptly stops and laughs, saying,

Well, we’ll see what happens.

Why did they think anyone would believe this statement? They would have been better off silent and just letting people get on with assuming they were stupid racists than to open their mouths and remove all doubt. Because you’d have to be ABSOLUTELY, INFINITESIMALLY STUPID to think any sentient being would buy such

I certainly hope this woman guides him to the nearest curb via steel-toed boot and leaves him there.

Of course I haven’t listened to her version. I’m not a fan of her music as it is, so why would I make the effort? That said, my favorite YouTube comment so far on this debacle is on EWF’s Vevo page for the original song:

Yes, they went there, but it wasn’t in a clueless way, it was definitely on purpose, to show out white people’s hypocrisy. But at the time hardly anyone saw the show, since it was on at midnight on Fridays.

They sure do. I remember seeing a Mr. Show episode in the 90s on HBO where every sketch was basically about this whole thing of white people pretending they don’t know, when they damn well do. They straight-up had a sketch where a white character gave Jerry Minor’s character a “Here’s a free bus out of town, please

I just want to say that it’s a bit crazy to see this. Back in the day I went to uni with Ms. Shahidi’s mom, Keri, who is a decent actress in her own right, is also absolutely stunning, and who I fully expected to become a star herself. It’s not too late to hook her up, Hollywood! That said, Keri must be so proud of

So if I tweet back at him, saying:

Ben Folds Five: Underground/Sports & Wine/Uncle WalterI like that one a lot.

Apparently, the Dunning–Kruger effect is in full effect with this Johnson person and “Shannon”.

Those white women, including Roseanne, don’t want real power (that would mean taking responsibility for their own beliefs and actions)! They want equal pay and all the benefits that feminism provided them, but they also want to benefit from the so-called dog whistle racism and “protection” that Daddy Cheeto claims to

I used to feel insulted by how cops like that one talking that “...well, I guess those people just don’t want to face facts about how awful they are, so that we’re justified in killing them on sight...,” who knows he’s a fucking liar. I would get angry and wonder why they thought they could use the Goebbels “tell the

“Frightened”? I highly doubt that. They were “frightened” like people who hunt are frightened, so not at all frightened. Can we replace “frightened” with “adrenelized”, or some other word?

She wanted to kill that man right then and there just because—and only because!—he was black.

Rita Moreno is wearing the same dress tonight that she wore to the Oscars in 1963. And Eva Marie Saint is 93? Somebody get her and Cicely Tyson in a movie ASAP!

And his son Duncan Jones’ recommendation for the 2nd book of the nascent Bowie Book Club is... The Fire Next Time, apparently one of his father’s favorite 100 books. Discussion started on his Twitter feed yesterday. I don’t twittle, but I hope there’s some people with sense in that feed. It could get ugly!

I went to a “Creative Arts” magnet school for 3rd and 4th grades, and was in a pageant that was horrendous, and yet could have only taken place in the 1970s. I’m not sure if this “musical” was written for schools, or if any of the teachers wrote it themselves (most of the teachers were 20-something and frustrated

Now playing

The only Holloway I know of is Loleatta, y’all:
