See, caftans make me think of Mrs. Roper (70s kid here). Unfortunately, whoever styled that character made her look hideous, so I’ve never considered the caftan as any kind of wardrobe staple for myself. Now that I’m closer to the age of Mrs. Roper than not, it might be worth reviewing that decision!

Whoa. You can get pretty far on a million in the Midwest!

And then one day you heard that Bowie tried to run him over in a hotel garage? :D

Ja, viele Menschen würden zustimmen, dass dieses Kind wirklich wie ihre Vorfahren ähnelt.

There was such a thing back in the late 70s -early 90s as a “Jack Kemp” Republican, who was a fiscal conservative and a social moderate (though he had some opinions on abortion and gay rights that would be seen as incredibly right-wing today, but at the time were standard for many people on either side of the aisle).

Here is what I learned in therapy about some of the things that happened in my childhood dealing with an emotionally unstable parent.

Ha! I realized from reading this article that I went to college with Yara Shahidi’s mother. Glad to know that the family’s doing well!

Why marry if you know you’re going to sex up other people?

Ironically enough, during my time at a super preppy high school in the mid-80s, there were two parking lots that the students could use (I went to school in a rich community), and the metalheads/burnouts/stoners took a corner of one. Maybe it was 15-20 kids out of a school of 1200.

That’s some Bowie-level hair right out the gate! Bless.

So nothing’s changed since 1985, which is the last time I went to church. A pentecostal church, anyway. The little storefront church I attended until 16 was complete with the the plastic “stained glass” stickers on the windows. Ah, being poor. Those were the days.

It’s not the side effects of the cocaine - I’m thinkin’ that it must be love!

“Beep, beep”, indeed.

I have been waiting for an opportunity to share this; one of Betty White’s first gigs was a radio show based out of Chicago called Empire Builders. In this episode, she plays a young orphan. 1930 or 1931, I believe, meaning she was 8 or 9 years old.

There’s to be a lot of silences and gaps in the audio tonight, are there? Hahahaha!

Oh, I’m glad that this one is actually intriguing. I’ll definitely see this one.

It literally is like “Bang!” “Bang!” “Bang!”
