“Eyebrow accents on the headlights” ??!!!??!! Hopefully not! Do you really want these from the factory?

I mean... they should just list the entire I-95 corridor from Boston to DC as one bad spot and call the east coast done.
Based on personal experience I can assure you it works. What it really means is that the intersection probably needs to be redesigned to be safer, but that’s not always possible.
People who use an intersection regularly and know it’s a hotspot for cops to watch tend to follow the rules more. We have a few such intersection in my town where people consistently run a red light or ignore the much needed no turn on red signs. When the cops sit nearby those intersections more frequently, drivers…
It could even be this way for something much simpler. I follow a Pacifica Hybrid group and buyers (and dealers) were not able to order one with the base 17" wheel and tire, they were forced to choose (and charge additional for) 18" wheels. This was not just one dealership, this was nationwide for a while. That changed…
Plastic aerodynamic bumpers. Take me back to when bumpers were made of chrome and steel. Who cares if people died when they got hit, these things had class!
This solution would be decades away. The power grid is always being maintained and improved over time. Why do you think that it won’t be improving as needed along the way? The whole shift to electric is not an overnight event, and neither is improving the existing power infrastructure... I hear this argument all the…
First run was impressive. Second ru OH MY GOD THATS SCARY AS HELL
Togetout of the grays try to get a jalop editor to do it, generally by responding directly to them after an article. The weekend crew is more likely to do it, if you ever see “jalopnik started following you” as a notifcation it’s been done!
Don’t modern cars lock the doors when you start moving? How did they get in her car, break a window?
I love how your fantasy street overhead parking view (“No Blocked Traffic”) has a beetle up front. What’s the third car in that row?
double post
So That’s why my package was so beat up when I got it! Sheesh. Power outage maybe? It was in the middle of a storm...
Well, what can I tell you. I live next to a train crossing and I can assure you that 99% of the drivers I see there will start moving as soon as the gates go up, well before they are all the way up. Whether it’s the drivers who are impatient, or they are maybe afraid of being honked at by the long line of impatient…
Yup.
Fully agreed, and I won’t say that these drivers were right (I always look before crossing tracks...). Just that when the gates go up, many drivers will proceed before the lights go out - either impatient themselves, or afraid of getting honked at by the long line of impatient people behind them...
Yeah, I’m guessing impatient idiots driving around the gates prompted the second set... but it doesn’t seem right to be able ro trap cars in there either.
I understand. I live near a train crossing and I’m telling you what I see most drivers do.
The guy filming backed into the gate on his side, you can see his car start to back up, then stop like it hit something, then speing under the gate... so there wasn’t much room. Although it looked to me like she could have hit reverse and gotten out of the way. Still, not a good situation.
Like I said, I’m not defending it, you are correct and a lot of things should have been done differently, but those gates went up... to most drivers that’s the ‘all clear’.
