Sounds like you are describing the station wagon, pretty much the only difference between a CUV and a family truckster type wagon is ground clearance. And CUVs can seat more people than the hatchet job that is modern wagons.

The moisture comes from the air in the shop before the tire is assembled. Most shops have a water separator on the compressed air to protect the tools and equipment from moisture.

Nope. Cold weather will still lower your PSI. Hot weather will still increase it. Just not quite as much, but seasonal changes will still be necessary.

Yup. Nitrogen fill is a nifty idea, but if you have to pay for it no no no no no no no!

Right? I specifically disabled my adblocker for Jalopnik and my favorite sites so they can survive, but this makes me want to turn it back on. At least it’s TireRack, so relevant, but still...

No big deal if it’s free, but if they want you to pay for a nitrogen fill refuse it. Not worth a penny. If you have to refill your tires regularly, get the leaks fixed.

That’s possible, but it also means you have a leak in your tire which should be addressed. Tires shouldn’t need air added on a regular basis unless it’s leaking out somewhere.

Not worth any extra cost ever ever ever - if they are asking for money for the nitrogen it’s a scam and run far far far away. It’s a nice idea, but not worth a penny.

Regarding MPG - filling your tires with regular air will actually help. When the tires heat up and PSI increases, the tires get a little firmer and your MPG will improve. If you have a higher/drier nitrogen in your tires, you don’t get that benefit.

Next on lifehacker: How to post a ‘hack’ about cars and get traffic from Jalopnik readers. This is no “life hack”, that’s for sure.

Not that long though - it was ‘new’. At least new to him. Although I recall hearing that DeLorean is still producing that car new as a low volume producer, maybe it was actually new! (edit - it is not, article says it was an ‘82)

I don’t even bother excusing myself anymore, unless it’s a particularly awkward social situation that requires it.

The most important thing that needs to be standardized right now and before the problem gets worse is simply the kind of plug used by the charging station (EVSE). With Tesla making a big deal about their charging network and it being inaccessible to any other brand of vehicle, this is really screwing with the EV

But why hide the spare tire at all? Show it off!

It’s a Jeep thing. The rest of them won’t understand.

Thanks! I knew you guys were looking out for us.

Can I ask a favor? Please? Pretty Please? PLEASE!!!!???!!

Bonnell is supposed to be good. Stoneham Ford is supposed to be good too. Live in the area but don’t drive any Fords, so I don’t have any firsthand experience, but Stoneham Ford is generally well regarded with the locals.

Well... here’s hoping GM knows how to make their diesel meet emissions. Should be a good car for the long distance commuter!

Now playing

What’s really amazing is that we can see wrecks like this and talk about survivors. Even as recent as 20 years ago this would have been all fatalities. Say all the bad things you want about GM, Toyota, NHTSA, DOT or whoever, but the improvements in passenger safety are pretty amazing. That said, good thing there
