Sure, that sounds good too! But the Lucerne does have more room inside. If you are on a stakeout, why not take the living room...

You want a Buick Lucerne Super. The things are invisible, roomy, comfortable, actually handle pretty well for a large car, and being a ‘Super’ it has the 4.6 Northstar V8 with 275 or 292 HP to scoot it along when necessary. Like the Avalon, only roomier and more comfortable.

I’ll never forget a great day at the beach with some buddies a few years ago. Some guy floats his disabled boat up to the beach, obviously having a bad day. He then walks to get his truck and boat trailer - a Ford Ranger (one of the little ones from the 90s) on street (ie not offroad) tires. He drives out onto the

1st gear: Even if there were no MPG requirements, wouldn’t the market eventually self-regulate? I mean, automakers make lots of gas guzzlers, people drive them, fuel prices go up, people want more efficient cars... at some point things will balance out - or continue cycling up and down. Just like today, no?

Just think how bad the congestion would be without that public transit!

Oh yeah. I’ve been stuck in the mud a few times, although never something quite this sticky. But still, we always knew to attach to the frame or something like the trailer hitch which is bolted to the frame. My old truck after retrieving it from being stuck:

I cannot figure out what they thought they would accomplish by pulling sideways on the roof. That’s a good way to roll it onto it’s side. Any extraction would be pulling forwards or backwards, even diagonally. Pulling from the top center would only tip it onto it’s side no matter what was stuck.

A real classic that looks very cool and has performance to back it up if desired is the Buick Riviera. One of my dream cars growing up that kept appearing on my car calendars was the ‘65 with the clamshell headlights. There were two different engine sizes - 401 or 425 ci ‘nailhead’ engines, and if you really wanted it

Handles so good you need to turn right to go left!

I tried to help someone get a model T running once, but we failed.

Just get a new steering box, problem solved. As far as the other broken bolts... ummm yeah. Just keep doing what you’re doing.

Really. I find it very suspicious that it was “discovered” with so much publicity and just enough time to restore it before the 50th anniversary hits. They have a good marketing group working on it, that’s for sure.

GM is laying off people because they overproduced the Cruze. They still sell a lot of those things.

The new Regal GS is pretty bad (as in good), but no MT anymore thanks to nobody buying MTs. 2.0 Turbo, AWD available, adjustable suspension modes, and a pretty nice interior to go along with it all. Not sure if the link will work but try this

I can’t help but re-emphasize this point - don’t street race, take it to a real track. So many avoidable tragedies. Stuff like this happens:

It sure does. I’ve sat in a couple. Unfortunately the change in controls is not enough for me to justify the cost to upgrade, I’ll be sticking with my ‘13 for many years.

Neutral: I have a 2013 Chevy Volt. Most confusing UI ever. “MyLink” is more like “MyHell”. When I’m looking at the climate screen and turn off the radio, there is really no need to turn off the climate screen. The capacitive touch buttons are awful because you can’t feel your way to a button, you HAVE to look at them

I’m officially starting a hashtag #NeverChiltons

Last Chilton’s manual I ever bought - replacing the heater core (not exactly worded).

Me too. First new car I ever bought, I drove it home, parked it then read the owners manual cover to cover. And I’m pretty sure I knew more about this car than any of the salespeople at the dealership.
