It’s been a couple of years now so my memory is a bit fuzzy. I recall sex trafficking, someone maybe got killed/ended up dead. The way it was tweeted made it funny but the story itself just had some people in bad situations that was not funny.

Yeah, it was initially funny but also kinda fucked up.

I didn’t watch the original until I was like 27 so while I thought it was a good movie, I didn’t have strong feelings about it. I loved the new version so much and laughed the whole time. I kept feeling like I was crazy when I saw all the backlash and did not get it.
