I finally downloaded CTRL over the weekend and I listened to it today and when it finished I was like, that’s it? None of the songs made an impression on first listen. I’ll give it a couple more chances but I don’t like the Indie artist voice either.

People projected what they wanted onto Obama and were surprised when they did not get it. I thought he did a good job considering the context of his presidency (shitty congress, shitty voter turnout in midterms, ppl assuming their job was done as soon as he was elected).

I used to have my picture on words with friends and random dudes would hit on me. I changed the picture to a flower and no one chats with me anymore.

It’s got a fun beat and some of the lyrics, I find funny. If I feel like dancing or laughing, I’ll listen to it. It’s not worse than most of todays pop songs.

I made a top-40 station on pandora just to keep up with new music. I mostly listen to podcasts on my drive to work. I end up skipping about 10 songs and end up listening to fun, upbeat songs that have no message. I enjoy them but I just as easily go back to my 60-80s hit station.
