Nazareth Speedway... Such a cool little tri-oval. After watching the Drive Like Andretti documentary on NBC over the weekend, I found out that Mario Andretti got his first win here. Kind of sad to see it so neglected.
Sorry, but despite all the Toyota fanboys in the media trying to find the silver lining here, I say this; When you have to spend more time telling what a car isn’t than what it is....you might have a problem.
The new Supra is exactly what I wanted it to be. Quick enough. Affordable enough. Comfortable enough… and ugly enough and automatic-only enough that I have no desire to ever own one. I wanted to not want the new Supra, and Toyota nailed it. They saved me upwards of $50k.
So he built a Ridgeline?
I actually saw my first VTX1800 in real life a few days ago. Dear lord that engine is THICC. I need me one of these monsters one day!
The ZF 8 speed is an outstanding automatic.
My issue with the new NSX is that it’s 10 years too late and outclassed by everything it competes with.
As one who owns an Elise, I cannot at all fathom this type of car without a manual. 0% interest in the 4C or this car for that reason. If you want to make it about the experience and not the numbers, then give me the manual.
I agree with everything in the review *except* about the transmission. It’s just not really a ‘simple and minimalist sports car’ without a manual transmission.
Came here to say exactly this. Super cool car and I would be highly interested if it had 3 pedals [well, and if we could buy it here]. But seriously, I’ll bite on the “supercars need the paddleshift because they make too much power’ so long as the same applies to the opposite. I’m still crushed that Alfa didn’t…
Same here...I’m trying to figure out what I should get when I turn in my manual F-Type, since that’s not going to be an option any more. Probably just get a Porsche like everybody else.
Sure. Give it a manual. And a bigger engine. and when you are done, you have a car that already exists, just with a quirky french body. The French gonna French and no one is gonna be able to convince them otherwise.
I was just thinking that but then realized it’s probably way easier for them to just call up ZF or whoever (Getrag, in this case) and have them send over a DCT than develop their own stick-shift or try and finagle one in from a Renault Clio. I doubt they willfully meant to offer it without a stick, but based on the…
I’d have bought a 4C if it had a manual, but I’m just one man. Not enough to move the needle.
I would rather buy a base Mustang GT 6-speed than a fully loaded EcoBoost. Infotainment systems are silly and always look outdated— give me a simple radio with an aux-in. The leather that Ford uses isn’t that great, so cloth is fine. The interiors will rattle about the same in a few years either way. Extra cameras and…
Annoy people trying to get decent results out of a Google Image Search, I find.
