Decay buys too many beaters
decay

Last year, after my saab gave up the ghost, I was shopping for a new beater to save me from the horrors of daily driving my spherical bushinged, straight piped, beslicked track car on Oregon roads. I had a bunch of IFTTT recipes out for old diesel Mercedes, Volvo bricks, 1UZ Lexuses, panthers, and manual BMWs,

You know it’s funny you should mention that, the first thing I thought when I test drove it was “holy crap this thing has a lot of wind and road noise!” before realizing that it was just the absence of engine noise and vibration I was noticing. And full disclosure, I’m definitely considering a model 3 as my new daily

The choice of the RWD versions over the D’s I agree with wholeheartedly.

Except it’s not all that fun, I’ve driven just about every iteration of the S and while the 0-70 acceleration (hits a wall at 70 and the acceleration drops off substantially) is absolutely fucking out of this world the handling, weight, and lack of feedback make it a pretty boring car to drive overall.

It’d simple really, running and push-ups. I pay about $80 per year in shoes and that’s it.

That is fucking gorgeous.

I’ve always gotten by with a set of allen keys, the Suzuki tool kit that came with my bike, a pair of vicegrips, and some zipties.

I do not do emissions tests for a living, but 86.1854 does not seem to specifically mention the conversion of on road vehicles to off road vehicles?

This appears to only apply to heavy duty vehicles... Section A

Is it behind the Camry?

Why not? It’s their stuff, they can do what they want. They’re basically the tasteless modders of the upper class.

The oil stays put... Until you crank it, then it gets squeezed to the side of the linear force and you get momentary metal on metal contact on the opposite side until enough pressure is built up to float the bearing again.

FUD, had to look that one up :)

Not directly, but I am a design engineer in an industry that offers warranties on products. We design everything to last warranty duration...

Wear on mechanical components for one.

I’d put an LS7 into my 540i, stealthy and fast.

It’s going to fail because it is front wheel drive (ok, ok, and fake all wheel drive) and doesn’t have the agricultural + tacky chrome look of it’s competitors. People are going to glaze over this an either go to the CUV or the big honkin pile of ‘murican pickup camps.
