People get really oddly penny wise when it comes to gasoline. I have avoided lines of cars 5 and ten deep by spending an extra penny per gallon at the station across the street. People waiting and idling for 20 minutes burning more than their savings… for a total of quarter.

At a saving of $.010/gal, you’re only saving $2 for a 200 gallon fill...

My usual argument for not going to Sams/?Costco/Bjs is that it isn’t worth the extra time waiting to save $.010 a gallon because my time is worth more than the $2 I’m saving. That equation changes significantly when you’re talking about 200 gallons of fuel.
