Cool factor and, you know, Tesla has a far superior powertrain that is both more efficient and more powerful. The I-Pace especially has notoriously poor efficiency.

The problem with this argument is none of those are “equal or often better” other than (potentially) the Taycan if you are willing to ignore it’s far inferior charging network (And no, Electrify America is not at all comparable to Superchargers and probably won’t ever be).

If you believe China is Socialist (or Communist), then I wonder which books you’ve read.

So long as the rest of the world keeps relying on them for cheap labor and a booming consumer group, I don’t think China needs to worry about commerce.

No different than Twitter and YouTube banning “hate” speech. Or PayPal deciding they won’t do business with any companies that aren’t pro-choice. Or Citi bank deciding it won’t lend money to the gun industry.
