Of course not, that seems like a deliberately uncharitable interpretation of what I said. The intent was to emphasize how toxic Hollywood is by comparing it to Twitch. 

When someone who has power over you at your workplace propositions you for sex, they have enormous ability to punish you for saying no or continue harassment afterwards.

It is orders of magnitude more dangerous and damaging than internet commentators - and those aren’t harmless, either.

Imagine streaming on twitch because there’s less harassment.

You’re right but forecasting based on an extremely anomalous surge in demand due to the pandemic to the degree that you have that much waste seems like it was at least a wee bit foolish. It was never ever going to continue indefinitely. 

I think it’s fair to say that 99.99% of publicly traded companies do not care about the environment outside of “does it effect the stock price?”

FYI, this happens ALL the time with many different products, particularly with clothing. Sure, a lot of the extra stuff ends up at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, etc., and some of it gets donated (like all of those unsold “Superbowl Champions!” t-shirts), but a lot also finds it’s way into landfills.

This should be illegal. Creating that much waste and probably having to pay close to nothing to dump it, thereby passing the true cost onto everyone else who has to deal with plastics in our food, medicine, water, etc. If you can’t accurately forecast the demand for these trinkets, then you should have to firesale…

Most plastic isn’t recyclable anyway. Even the stuff you dutifully clean and put in the proper bin just gets dumped in a landfill, or shipped off to some other country that will just dump it a landfill over there. At least fabric and paper will degrade. I mean, unless it’s a synthetic fabric that is made out some sort…
