They’re making the Stem from Evil Within basically.

Oh I’m sure Lena and Lex have some stashed somewhere.

Yes Kelly, whose only a slight improvement over Sophie in that she doesn’t actively sabotage Alex.

Man these shows have their mommy & daddy issues don’t they? Winn’s father everytime he showed was an abusive ass and mass murderer who tried to involve his son in his work. And yet here we have Kara going “I don’t know, are you sure you don’t want to forgive him?” and lo and behold he did. This was tamer than most but

No it was deliberately to fool Sophie by having them both in the same room at the same time.

They did, they did a fake out with Alfred’s daughter to trick Sophie into thinking it wasn’t her.

It lingers now, since what did saving him accomplish?

No not Alex, I don’t see them doing cross show romance. They do not quite have Grey’s Anatomy levels of integration.

Well yeah, because they’re “Soulmates”

If it keeps her and Kate apart I’m not complaining.

God Jeezus fuck I hope Sophie is not supposed to be Kate’s soulmate. They are bad for each and it gets worse by the episode. This reminds me of how they originally got Barry and Iris together on The Flash with all their talk about fate and what not. And that wasn’t good either.

Yeah something tells me that Percy Shelley could have died and the world won’t really be any different for it. Especially compared to stopping the Cybermen, who have killed billions and needed to have a galaxy nuked out of existence to be stopped.

Yeah this episode was exactly what I was talking about last week. The episode had a message but ended up tripping over itself with the Alien Plot. Like, the aliens exploiting peoples mental states was at least in line with the Mental Health issue but way too much time was spent on the aliens rather than the mental

At least they acknowledged and expressed concern for those people. Not poor Aramu.

Also if he had a phone why didn’t he call his people who were looking for him instead of his ex-cop husband who he’s separated from and is in the UK.

She dropped them all off in Madagascar where none of them lived or were before all this started. So no they don’t have a way back home.

If the alien portion of the plot didn’t undermine the message they were trying to tell then yes, they probably were better. That’s my issue, the fact that the writers seem to be having trouble telling a story without its message getting trampled by the plot.

No that doesn’t count because they did express concern for all the characters who were in danger or dead in that one, even if they did do a piss poor job of actually trying to save anyone.

Like I said, it’s fine when it works well but as they wrote them, the alien portions of the plot undermine the message they’re trying to tell.

I thought this episode was fine but it is an example of of my big problem with the Chibnall era stories. Namely how the big issues are now very spelled out and unsubtle. Now that in itself is not a bad thing but way they try to combine them with the alien plots is.
