Makes me think of...

I also don’t know how this show can possibly end in a satisfying way, but who knows, the whole thing is a glorious mess, maybe they can pull it off. I certainly am on board for the attempt

I was glad that Eve shot Konstantin just for his obnoxious laugh. Also Villanelle shot Konstantin once so that is yet another linkage of the two of them.

artificial attempt at garnering interest"

Hmmmm.....

I liked it overall, but it is indeed strange, and not entirely in a good way. The choice to make Superman a weirdly Batman-like “Is he real?” figure is, honestly, a baffling choice. Like, Crisis showed that there were tons of Supermen out there, it wouldn’t be shocking if this were in an alternate universe with its

I never thought the Commando was the DMR, I thought of it as a significantly nerfed SAW. Because... that’s clearly what it is.

After that weird Age Of Ultron interlude about Natasha being a monster for not having a uterus/not being able to have kids, I appreciated that this episode casually showed a former Black Widow happily adopting a child.

he’s been gone for 6 years only to come back and immediately get killed.

It depends. In the lore of Batwoman and the larger Arrowverse, Batman has existed for a long time, which gives plenty of room for Dick, Jason, Tim, Barbara, et al to exist. Bruce is missing on Batwoman, but it’s not inconceivable that he would be brought on only to kill him off, setting up the Gotham Knights spin-off.

Here's a thought: try putting Batman in a Batman show. Crazy, I know.

How many “Batman Without Batman” TV shows does this make?

Semi-related: I had a good, hearty chuckle at this week’s ultimate challenge: “Win 17 pvp matches.” That’s hilarious. Good joke, 343. Nice try. I literally opted out of playing Sunday night once I unlocked it. Just decided to not even pretend like I was going to try it with my limited amount of time to play these

I hate so much that 13 has stonewalled Yaz (and even Ryan and Graham last series) this whole time. It really affects the way Jodie has to play the character, and if it didn’t make her entirely unlikable, it hung over every interaction the two characters had in a really distracting way. And I do think you’re right

I liked how the two big scenes with the doctor and Yaz played, them hugging and saying they missed each other, and then the doctor’s tearful apology & telling Yaz she wants to let her in. Whether she is capable of that remains to be seen, but the thought is nice & maybe enough. The doctor-companion relationships are

This week, that doesn’t even get a passing mention. As far as I can tell, by the end of the episode the Doctor has done absolutely nothing about the fact that the entire universe (except for Earth) was drastically decimated by the Flux.

hell, man there’s an entire episode of just Capaldi’s character grappling with grief, no other characters or real plot other than a deep dive into the Doctor’s mind. it fucking slaps - it might be the greatest episode in the history of this show.

Capaldi’s entire era is... kind of the exact opposite of what your impression seems to be? the threats he deals with are generally more small-scale (one ship or train or building even) or borderline abstract (if his tenure has a Big Bad it’s arguably grief and trauma than any tangible threat). even his series finales

If nothing else, flux was seldom boring, and considering boredom is the default Chibnall reaction from me, I’ll take this is as a sharp improvement. The majority of non-writing elements felt much better this season. The music has improved dramatically, the characters are more likable and the performances have improved

One thing that I thought was interesting, and a sign of changing times is this is one of (I think) 3 shows that I am watching this year that cast someone (the lady missing her right forearm)with a visible handicap, resisted the temptation to do a “Very Special Episode” and not only that, didn’t mention it at all. The
