I notice a conspicuous absence of any "Happy Canada Day" post from Wednesday. I feel slighted and a little bit hurt. After all the love we Canadians have shown you... not even a little love in return. Ray... I thought we had something special... now I see you've just been using us. Myself... Officer Boosted... The

Mr. Orosz, between you and the Evil Insider, you've brought back a big chunk of the Jalopnik I fell in love with two years ago. This is a beautiful gallery, and the kind of stuff I started coming here to see.

Hummina-hummina-hummina! Shouldn't pr0n like this be under the fold and with a NSFW tag? That's sexy right there, that's what that is.

@eggwich del fiero ttt!: I heard she's actually one of the Lamborghini booth babes... er... professionals.

Mr. Insider, I think you need a hobby. You clearly have far too much time on your hands. Can I recommend a project car, like, say, a Volvo wagon, or a Lincoln Continental, or a Crown Victoria with Wanky the Safety Cat in the rear window (yes, I know she has a new project car, but I can't remember what it is)... you

@despisethesun: I suppose the larger point I was aiming for was that the aftermarket never really touched it. All the traits you describe were similar traits for the predecessors of the engines of the '60s that we now idolize. Most started out as big beastly truck engines with mediocre performance and a lot of

@Prawo Jazdy and The Painted Rotors.: Having driven a few cars without seats... I would vote for the seat over the exhaust note. Sitting on bare metal floors is uncomfortable... and makes it very difficult to see where you're going.

@Mike the Dog: Further to that, may I recommend the Hurst S/C Rambler? Based on a Rambler American, with a big beefy 390, a pistol-grip shifter and the loudest red-white-and-blue paint job imaginable...

I'm going to go with the red and white Pontiac Star Chief I saw this weekend with a 6'x12' Canadian flag off the back bumper, and two more 2'x4' flags on the front fenders.

I'm still amazed that I haven't seen a single project that involves a reworked Triton V10. The Viper is just essentially a reworked truck engine — although it gained far more fame and notoriety in the Viper — so why not do the same with Ford's V10? Then, at least, you're keeping it all in the family.

@RamblinReck89: I'm not sure if that was an attempt at humour, so I'm going to assume you were being serious.

@pauljones: Has NOBODY else picked up on the fact that the Epsilon II platform is too small to make this story viably accurate?

@Maxx Cracker: This is just the qualifying round. Next we'll see how you do in the swimsuit competition.

@ambidextrous pj134: I dunno about that. First off, you gotta find us, and we've seen your educational system in action. Secondly, you have to defeat our "spread out!" defensive strategy. Thirdly, and by the time you captured our nation's capital, Toronto, we'd have just moved it to somewhere else. Like, say, Inuvik.

Congratulations, FromaBuick6! Well-earned and poignant.

@Alphamazing: Sigh. Ash always makes me feel like I need to comment more just to at least try and ward him off. The problem is, the harder I try, the more likely it is that he's going to win it, because he doesn't try at all, it just comes naturally.

@FP - tittin' and shittin' with Tomsk: You know, I test drove an Acura RL and a Lincoln MKZ for a review last year. In virtually every way, except for the noise-cancelling stereo, I preferred the Lincoln, despite its softer ride. I think the TL still wins out, but the fact that Lincoln is a serious competitor is a big
