Little known fact: When your car reaches a certain level of performance, you are required to carry a passenger with a feather-duster with you at all times. As a safety precaution. Just in case.

"ANYONE who leaves because of whatever silly idealist problem is a shmuck."
If you vote against this car, you're voting for Hitler to have won, and you clearly hate freedom.
Well well well. Congratulations, Ms. Skaycog. A well-deserved win, no doubt. Post enough Ford GT's, and eventually you'll wear them down. ;) I thought, since everyone else is offering a GT or GT40, that I'd contribute a Lotus contribution, that very nearly became the GT40's closest relative. Needless to say, it didn't…
First Spinelli, now Davey G..
@Novaload: We're still around, you know. Just on the other side of that fence over there.
Well, well, well. This should prove interesting.
@$kaycog: The problem I always had with those things was that they had just massive trunks, but you could never fit any large objects in them.
@AustinMiniMan: Wow... this looks familiar.
@The Shockwave: Thanks for saying what I was thinking. That's a bit like saying, "If Sully Sullenberger had been flying a B-52 loaded with nuclear bombs, and if those bombs had been armed, and if all their safeties had been removed, he could have NUKED NEW YORK!! Of course, he wasn't, so he didn't. Whew!"
@Adamskiy, as seen on TV!: I'd say your assessment is entirely accurate. "Car guy", perhaps not. "Someone who likes to look at the pretty shiny things", perhaps.
@loveableterror- has an SRT and knows how to wield it!: Scotch: It's Not Just For Breakfast Anymore!
That's a pretty accurate theme for the Canadian Border-Runners. We Canadians will do damn near anything to get back out of the 'States.
@maximum_sarge: The answer is threeve.
@bzr: Well... only one way to find out! Someone find me a Corvair van!
@Ray Wert: I'll leave that to others who actually, you know, read any of the other outlets.
Ray, you and I have had our differences, but my hat is absolutely off to you on this one. You minced no words, and said exactly what all of us are thinking about it. Fantastically done. Saying anything else about this bastardization of the genre would simply be lying.
Ben, this is fantastic. Hopefully I'll be writing companion articles soon; we're in the process of searching for an appropriate three-car garage, possibly with house attached.
Mmmm, Murilee. She's so dreamy.
Of course everyone's aware that the 2012 Passat isn't coming to North America, right? So like it or not, this car will not be available to Canadian and American buyers. Instead, we will get the New Midsize Sedan or NMS. This hasn't, to my knowledge, been officially designed, completed, built, or even named.
