On TikTok I’ll occasionally see an employee of a dealership - it’s been a few, but it’s usually non-luxury brands like Toyota - asking their co-workers what their car payment is. The answers are jaw dropping. You know they’re not making that much, and they’re happily answering “$1200.”

Been saying this for years. The area I grew up ended up spreading out after I graduated high school and all the businesses went with it. There were still old neighborhoods around but I guess corporate restaurants like Olive Garden didn’t want two in a twenty mile radius. The result was an entire stretch of suburbs

They won’t. The market will. Somebody below said the other apts will now charge for parking. That’s the same difference - rent is cheaper in the place without parking. They’re certainly passing on the savings from indoor-roller-coaster-less apartment construction, aren’t they? I think all you’re trying to say is that

Will probably give other apt complex owners the idea to charge for parking. When I lived in a downtown apartment 20+ years ago in Portland, ME, it was one of VERY few in the desirable West End that had off-street parking. Back then it was $570mo including the parking. Today it is $2500/mo and you pay another $200/mo

I expect to pay for parking when I go downtown

First Gear: Not surprising that the Model S/X are sliding in sales. They are basically a decade old at this point and have tons of very compelling competition now in the same $80-120k price point.

Drives me mad. There’s a person posting exactly that kind of drivel elsewhere here, but they seem focused on bicyclists not paying taxes and then kind of inferring that they don’t have any business on the road, so screw ‘em.

It’s a given to mention most performance cars today, but if you ask me, anything that can absolutely pummel through anything at high speed. That’s the big performance SUVs and trucks like the Ford Raptor, Ram TRX, G63 AMG, etc. But one thing I’m particularly concerned about is the Hummer EV, which is pretty

cyclists do have to follow the same laws as cars. The point I’m making is when an article like this comes up morons start talking about how “I always see bicyclists do this and do that!” In other words it angers them that someone who is taking their life into their hands, risking death that in a car would be a fender

As a Canadian, this article is sci-fi. The idea of carrying a gun with me is pure insanity.

To quote an old meme:

As long as it’s not currently charging there is no power flowing through the chord, and if you unplug the chord charging stops, so that’s the electrocution hazard solved. You also don’t need the ends of the cable to sell them for scrap.

I’m always astonished by the inability of the English-speaking world to spell “rogue”, even though Nissan sells some 300,000 of the things per year in the US alone. Given that “rouge” is originally a French word, you’d think the misspelling would be in the opposite direction, but language is always a fascinating unpred

Find a reputable one.  With a UL-listed battery.

This thing is buzzword bingo vaporware.

In the past I’ve put more miles on my normal bike (2,000) as opposed to my car (1,500). However now I have a job where I have to show up and be presentable, and there aren’t any showers. And it’s 10 miles away.

Not if people don't use it

I’m glad they cast an actual Brazilian dude to play a Brazilian dude, as opposed to making some American guy do a terrible accent to try and imitate him. I’m looking forward to watching this when it comes out, I recently re-watched the video of Senna taking an NSX around a track and the heel-toe-blip-throttle action

Physical appearance is good, but the actor’s ability to exude the spirit of the subject is more important.
