I do not understand painting the block red, deserves to be blue! I would argue that old big block Corvettes could keep up with new ones in the acceleration department, especially if given some modern rubber, especially the L88 cars that could run high 10's in the 1/4 mile in the late 60's on period drag slicks, obviously they couldn’t keep up in turns or braking or top speed
