A little history, the 1-4 skip shift is only on Chevy manual transmission performance vehicles, it originated with the C4 Corvette to pass California’s noise laws (and slightly bump gas mileage) the law stated the car was to be driven “in 1st gear, and then shifted into the next gear, and be driven at full throttle”

I do not understand painting the block red, deserves to be blue! They are all the same block, I have a ‘71 Formula 400 myself, but I will say there’s no way this could be an original Formula 455 for this price, those are stupid rare, have seen one in person and the owner said he paid around $200k for it, granted it

I would argue that old big block Corvettes could keep up with new ones in the acceleration department, especially if given some modern rubber, especially the L88 cars that could run high 10's in the 1/4 mile in the late 60's on period drag slicks, obviously they couldn’t keep up in turns or braking or top speed

After much much deep thought, I have narrowed my list to 5, and there may or may not be a stunning correlation....
