Virtue signaling implies that I think the writers are trying to have whatever they’re saying reflect positively on themselves just for saying it but I really don’t. I think they’re just being patronizing. This website used to snark on PR speak and now that’s basically their writing style.

I completely get wanting your kid to have some instruction in music and i don’t think its having a negative effect but the 30 minutes a day thing is a pretty ineffective way to actually be able to “learn” an instrument. You have to want to play it and actually have your hands on the thing for hours and hours every day…
