I enjoyed RUSHMORE well enough, but I've never felt even a scintilla of an urge to revisit it and putting it in the top ten of the 90s is plain nutty.  So - can't really help you, I don't get it either.

That seems to go hand in hand with the Homer-Marge dynamic, and I wonder how pervasive it is in children's literature… I don't remember enough from my own childhood to say…  it would make sense since it's presumably mostly the mothers who are buying books for their kids.

I liked most of DEATH PROOF, but it was insufferable when the second group of girls had the screen to themselves…. loved the first group who of course got slaughtered and Kurt Russell was brilliant throughout.
