Indeed. We need to move past the point where we imagine racism as a removable cancerous lump. It's a virus in our bloodstream and we "have" it even when we think or know we are better than it. Angrily pointing out visible racism is like focusing on the symptoms of the disease.

In a good discussion I once had about indigenous American cultures, it was pointed out that Western/white culture is applauded when it grows and changes, but American Indians are said to be losing their identity/culture when they do the same thing.

They aren't terrible people, but there is a good bit of denial of history inherent to American conservative ideology. It's just disappointing for people you like to be associated with that.

Subtlety and distinction are not even remotely mutually exclusive. Batman the animated series and Team Fortress 2 have subtly different looks, but I sincerely doubt you would ever mistake one for the other.

No offense, but as a fan of both the Warcraft and Guild Wars stories, you don't sound like you know much about GW. It is insanely more serious and dark than WoW. WoW has its moments of seriousness, but GW maintains a level of weightiness and hopelessness pretty much all the way through.
