Yeah, from the trailer it looks like it sort of falls short. It looks like a lower-budget, less sexy Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Oh I don't deny that there are a lot of issues swirling all up and through Odd Future. I am just saying we should approach them with a critical lens to figure exactly what is going on rather than cutting corners and fudging it.

Well, the gangster rap image is nearly outmoded these days (think Kanye, Drake, Childish Gambino, Common, Mos Def). Even so, there is a strange way in which the genre itself can carry those stigmas. It was only a month or two ago that the right wing media accused Obama of bringing a pro-cop-killing rapper into the

I think there is a lot that goes into it. Rap and rap culture seems more concerned with authenticity for a few different reasons. As a result, I think rappers have done more work to blend the stage persona with their own identities. Also (and I'm not presenting this as a singular explanation) I think it might be

I wish someone would offer me 18 million to get sham married. I'll sham marry anyone you guys want... Well, back to grad school (though now with a distinct loss in self-respect knowing that I would marry anyone for 72 days if I could get a boatload of money out of it).

I guess it's just another case of "once you go black, your confusing and confused attempt at marriage and profit won't last more than 72 days if your hot man on the side refuses to sleep with a married woman." Such a classic tragedy.

There is no excuse for Turner assaulting Harris or the other photographer he attacked. That's plain and simple.

Not that it stops it from being misogynist, but that misogyny is complicated by the fact that in this video we are looking at a female member of Odd Future committing violence against another woman. Turner's assault on Harris and the unnamed male photographer is ridiculous, childish, and, like any violence,

I'd love to get a game where we re-visit some of the old protags. What's Tommy Vercetti been up to since the 80s? How is CJ fairing at the core of a huge crime operation when his legitimate music business (obtained illegally of course) is facing the troubles of the mp3 age? Claude Speed: has that guy gained the

I'd like to imagine that if/when we run into CJ in this game, he is going to be way higher up on the food-chain than some dude who has to run from the cops in an alley.

Interesting; it sort of fits that after all these years of crime sprees and killings, we would try out the role of an older criminal attempting to retire from "the life." Still, I wish it were a woman; that would've been pretty cool and the story would have had to be wildly interesting and different from the GTA norm

Essentially you are demanding that we go against language as it is used and instead embrace some absolute ideal. If you understand language, that's ridiculous, but hey, dictionaries are useful and you seem to have a deep respect for them. There's nothing wrong with that so I will bite: what is your point? Never

must... not... BANG HEAD ON TABLE!

Well if that's all you heard you ought to read more closely :)

Meh, I'd still say it is important to separate "hate" from "misogyny," because with the way "misogyny" is actually used, "hate" confuses the issue. You could say "everyone should stop using 'misogyny' when describing a cultural male bias since hate is in the root," but language and discourse are hardly that simple to

We of course aren't talking about something as tangible or physical as murder so your analogy doesn't fit. We are talking about culture which is a beast of context. If I make a big awkward wink at you it means one thing. If I make a big awkward wink at you after I just caught someone else attempting to secretively

The theme you are referring to is the etymology of the word. But here's something: words are subject to constantly changing discourse which often leads them far astray from their roots. What misogyny has come to mean is something very different from its roots. Hence why a college professor is using it in this way;

Oh I understand what leads to people wanting these types of changes. I just can't personally fathom those feelings.

I think it is heavily talked about in all mediums. This is just a video game blog so it is natural that our subject is video games.
