That doesn’t explain the box-office breaking records. I understand your point - if this film did okay, it would be a bigger success at a $50 million budget than say, a $150 million dollar budget.

This is the problem with outrage culture - there are always going to be a vocal group that is going to be pissed. Creators should be responsible and aware, but they shouldn’t have to traverse a minefield to get there. Except you would know for SURE who it was, which would’ve done nothing for the storyline. Had they come out and said, we’re doing the Red Hood arc - you think you’d be okay with that but the story would’ve been weak (hell, maybe it is anyway).
