I pray that this show has the balls to get to the end of this series without ever once uttering the words “Jedi” or “the force.” It’s so, so good.

The Day After Tomorrow was a Roland Emmerich movie.

My young elementary age kid and I watched it together and despite her being restless from time to time... she still loved it, and had lots of thought provoking questions about the show (often she was confused by the motives of some characters... ‘why is Cel trying to kill Cassian??’)

This is such a great series that they could merely change a few names and wording here and there, take “Star Wars” off of it and it would still be just an amazing sci-fi spy thriller political drama, standing tall on its own. I feel it is the singular best work done in the entire franchise. Addendum: of course, then

I’m not reading anything until I catch up, but I gotta sing the praises of this show. Finally a Star Wars story that is not based on nostalgia, that justifies itself by itself as opposed to in reference to something else, is specifically for grown ups (not that older kids can’t get it but, you know, not marketed to

i initially thought they had just removed ‘jeff’ from the article title.

It’s not even close. This is the best Star Wars TV show of all time.

Yep, that Robert Downey Jr guy isn’t a movie star.

It wasn’t even valued at $44 billion when he offered that much. He overvalued it so much the shareholders were legally obligated to hold him to it. What a fucking idiot.

New cable channels– ITV, Channel 4–are popping up with more money

Oh, I have none. It’s just extremely obvious.

Look, I’m forward-thinking - I accept that people like her didn’t choose to celebrate christmas, and that they were just born that way. What I don’t understand is why they just have to be so flamboyant about it. Like, can’t you do your christmas stuff behind closed doors, and not throw it in all of our faces? I’m

Just read what he actually said. He said he doesn’t care if someone liked him before and doesn’t like him now because of his political views. He’s not saying anything about not wanting to influence people or make his opinion known whatsoever.

Obscuring a plate does not put anyone at risk, and I don’t think that is the argument being made. The quote itself mentions obscuring your plate so that you can take part in other illegal activity with impunity, including speeding and running red lights, which does generally put others at risk

That makes no real sense. Someone who does care what people think about them would keep their preferences as secret as possible and avoid public endorsements. Someone who doesn’t care about any fallout from making their preferences public would endorse...

You hit the nail on the head. I’m a lefty but I enjoy watching Yellowstone; it’s soapy and kinda dumb but entertaining enough. Helps that it’s set in my home state. It does spotlight regional issues, like the violence perpetrated against indigenous populations (especially native women) and how moneyed interests are

Yeah it’s silly to view it this way, of course the show has right wing fans. Any show with certain type of protagonist will attract them. Wolf of Wall Street, Fight Club, etc. it doesn’t make them right wing films.

Hey, remember that movie where a cop who sexually assaults a woman during a traffic stop isn’t all THAT bad because he doesn’t also let her burn to death after a car accident?

She was the moral center of the story. She made that movie.
