It definitely is supposed to be the same Max (or it was I’ve not seen Furiosa yet, so I don’t know if that supersedes any of this).

It’s a franchise with its fair share of stupidity, but Wingard’s two entries are an order of magnitude more stupid than the rest. I think it’s safe to assume that much of the fault lies with him.

After seeing Godzilla vs Kong, I was sure that was as dumb as it could possibly get. After seeing Godzilla × Kong (a movie which, despite giving him top billing in the title, cannot find a reason for Godzilla to be in it), I learned how wrong I was.

Except that they specifically say:

No. I have no idea why this article interprets it as purely the writing, but if you go to the original at THR, it’s three more years for the whole show to be wrapped up, and given they talk about multiple seasons, the first of them will presumably arrive much sooner.

Immortal Joe

I guarantee there was something more “interesting” that you hadn’t seen before at your local video rental store.

Fuck me. You went to see a movie in the theatre and didn’t like it, so you went eight more times... Eight?!

Putting Storm on the Avengers feels like a push, especially with the announcement coming right after Brevoort said that he didn’t put her on an X-Men team book because she automatically takes over whatever team she joins.

Cherry was an Apple production and The Devil All the Time a Netflix one. They only had limited theatrical runs.

Ahem. Chaos Walking.

One of my Top 5 worst movie ever won the Cannes Palme D’or

not since BABYLON has such bonkers boldness been birthed

You say that like he’s Kubrick.

I liked “The Snowmen” quite a lot too, and “The Husbands of River Song” was pretty good, but I agree in principle: Moffat’s track record on Christmas specials is significantly worse than his track record on regular episodes.

This is the thing you said that prompted my response:

It sounds like he was originally supposed to direct the pilot but backed away to focus on his movies.

it is a work of fiction, and the author can make whatever history or rules that he wants

They created entire fighting styles explicitly to counter them
