Melissa Barrera was definitely fired because of that. Jenna Ortega supposedly had scheduling conflicts with Wednesday, but the timing was way too on the nose (it was announced the very next morning). And the director, whose immediate response to Barrera’s firing was to publicly distance himself from that decision,

It’s actually impressive how quickly the producers have managed to revive Scream as an ongoing concern, turn out two surprisingly good movies, both of them financial successes, and then burn the whole thing to the ground in support of the indiscriminate slaughter of innocents.

What’s sad is that at one point they DID have a good plan with more creative choices at director.

I can’t disagree with the comments on Wonder Woman (has a couple of great moments and some major flaws, but mostly its perfectly fine) and WW84 (a total mess on every level), but Monster is not “little known”. Charlize Theron won an Oscar for it, FFS, along with almost every other Best Actress award going that year.

He makes movies that are fun to watch, and that’s it.

I suspect these are two different things. Filoni has his Mando-verse crossover movie which will presumably be Hera & friends vs Thrawn, and season 2 of Ahsoka will no doubt follow up with the characters who were left stranded in another galaxy.

For the Mando-verse stuff, I agree.

So in the regards of any future plans, titles, and such being leaked, I say “you reap what you sow.”

The X-Men multiplayer mode is planned to precede the main game? Is that right?

[He] thinks Bowen Yang deserves an EGOT for his impression of him on SNL. In other news, Santos has no idea who either James Baldwin or Harvey Milk are...

The Rock is as badly directed as every other Bay film though. It works as much as it does largely on the strength of the innate screen presence of Connery and Cage.

FYI, Echo wasn’t in the Bendis/Maleev run.

Never did it before (this time).

Creatively break even”? His second passes often get tons of credit for being notably less bad than his first passes, but that’s a very, very low bar and they’re all still fucking awful.

His cinematography is often dramatic, I’ll give him that much.

I disagree. I think mature filmmakers can and do set scenes in brothels or strip clubs that could’ve been set in regular bars. The difference is that few of them would think that’s noteworthy enough by itself to be worth making it a point to boast about having done so while they’re promoting the film.

Switching it up would be holding the meeting on a rollercoaster. It’s not switching it up to hold it in a bar, but with more prostitutes. That’s just a dumb 13 year old boy’s idea of what would make the bar morebadass.

Precisely because it demonstrates how pointless “total hours viewed” is as a metric. TV shows can and do have radically different lengths to each other as well.

Oh shit, the Shadow and Bone fans are gonna be pissed.

The world building in John Wick started dumb and got worse with each entry, yeah. As for the action, while it’s well choreographed and executed, I find far too much of it falls into a pattern of “John walks into a room and takes out an army of goons in his usual style, then more goons show up and he does it again” on
