It did have quite a different feel though, at least in the beginning. It was going for an specifically spaghetti western thing with its taciturn lead and somewhat more deliberate pacing (as opposed to the melting pot of influences Lucas brought to the franchise).

I had assumed so when it was announced, but I think I was just thrown by them using “The Hedge Knight” as a subtitle. I honestly don’t think the novellas warrant more than 1 or 2 episodes each, which means 6 episodes max before they run out of material.
