Exactly!  I have not seen a single cyclist who followed the rules of the road.  NOT a single one!  Everyone blows right through red lights and stop signs, and turn left on red when there is no car coming.

Look at all those Nikon lenses and Mcintosh amplifiers...

I have only owned VW AG cars all my life so far. First car, 1979 Rabbit (built in the USA) which I later swapped an 1985 GTI motor and transmission into. Second car, 1978 German made Rabbit, which I swapped a brand new GEX GTI motor and ABT close ratio gear box into. Then I got a Jetta 16V, Passat Wagon, Passat Sedan,

I think instead of “thick”, “in height” is more clear.  Just my opinion for being an engineer with OCD.

So I don’t have to buy the RS5...

Let’s not forget that China already has a copy of the F35 design obtain by the hacking back a few years ago.  And they have made a “stealth” plane from that stolen design.  So, I think it also has a lot to do with this since if these other countries don’t buy a stealth plane, then the Chinese version will eventually

All I can say is that I am jealous...  It would have been a great follow up car for my Touareg V6 TDI here in the States.

It appears that you really hate VW’s. Oh well. If you believe in stats, then VW should have gone out of business a long long time ago. And the same goes with the other German car companies.

LOL

So just buy the simplest car and just drive it.  Problem solved for you.

It’s not an excuse to justify buying a VW. Either you hate it or you love it. I love it, and I’ve driven nothing but VW AG cars. And I am at least 10 years older than you. My mother had a Mazda that leaked power steering fluid on the way home after she bought it from the dealership. My dad had a Maxima that was

For the record, it’s my wife’s car, and she and I both love it. We actually had the same car in V6, not TDI. But when the fix came out and the TDI was on sale again, I bought it with a super deal. And once you drive the TDI, you just can’t go back to the plain V6. The 400 lb-ft of torque is intoxicating! It’s like

Exactly!

Those are not my experiences with VW cars.  I drive these cars HARD with a lot of modifications.  120K miles of hard acceleration, braking, high speed runs on my cars, and they still hold up very well.  Yes, I’ve heard a lot of horror stories on VW cars, but I’ve also heard horror stories on Japanese cars as well.

I guess you were unfortunate.  I’ve driven nothing but VW cars, now Audi.  So far, I’ve taken two cars to over 120K miles with no major issues.  But of course, I maintain them religiously.  And I also modify them.

Sure thing!  But for the money I spend on the TDI, I get over 400 lb-ft of torque for a lot less than buying a Model X, for example.  This thing drives like a car, handles like a car, and brakes like a car due to the nice Bremble calipers.  Hard to beat this setup.

This would be true with any turbo-charged cars. The turbo isn’t difficult to change, but I get your point. However, due to the settlement, I get over 100K miles emission warranty; I believe the engine is covered under that as well.

I really love my Touareg TDI!!! Even after the “fix”, it is still way better than a gasoline car! I guess eventually, I’ll get an EV, when it can do what the TDI can do.
