You must not have heard... Republicans are overturning Roe v. Wade ASAP and banning abortion. The thing they’ve been riling up their base about for 50 years. They’re doing it.

I think the point is many don’t even try until they think they have votes. Force the fucking vote anyway! Make people go on record as having voted against something.

It’s not hard to imagine. First, imagine you are so far to the right that your moral compass says a billionaire former reality game show host, serial liar, and thrice-married adulterer was “sent by God” to lead this country back to greatness.

To be a little pedantic, the mechanism exists. It’s the same mechanism as impeaching the President. It’s just too high a bar for our current political reality to cross... so yeah, potato... potahtoe.

I agree though, that Democrats should take a page from the Republican playbook.

TLDR: Their strategy basically seems to be “We just need to be cooperative and not do anything until we have more votes.”

They don’t have to commit treason. There’s no real rule on what constitutes an impeachable offense for a judge. Anything sufficiently unethical should be good enough.

Democrats are in power right now. They have a majority, with the VP, in the Senate, a majority in the House, and the White House. It seems like voters did our job.
