@blyan is not on fire: you haven't had to retort to many people with at least a normal level of intelligence have you?

@blyan is not on fire: When's the last time you saw plastic 'shatter'? Plastic is far less likely to shatter than glass.

What do Giz readers really expect? Am I the only one who sees that this 'tech website' has a very clear 'taste' that it imposes on users. Its leanings and loyalties are obvious- android is a sideshow on this website and always will be.

Any particular reason its not just scratched up and presented rather unflatteringly, but also sandwiched between and iPhone and an iPad. The iPad I can understand as its main competitor but the headline, the picture and the 'tone' from start to finish paint a rather disturbing picture.

@minjin: Well said. There's an appalling lack of substance to this review. Even though personally I've decided to forego the tab due to it being surplus to my current requirements you have a few very valid points.

@pjcard: "We disliked: [...] There's no 2D-3D conversion technology on board."

@Raziel66: I'm not sure with modern TVs, they might do with external inputs like blu ray or a cable box over hdmi, however, regular television won't work since the US uses NTSC and a lot of Europe uses the PAL system.

You know what's really, truly painful about this..?

@olugbam: If they didn't mention it, someone would inevitably ask, "can it do 1080p?".

Lol.

Meh... Not a great surprise.

Flame -bait like I haven't seen in a while. Why, HTC!? why? This is a 'less is more' OS for a reason.

Its simple.

Its simple.

As good as it gets? well, if you're a camera enthusiast.... otherwise, I think I'll stick with my Galaxy S though, thanks.

Yeah, the interference with unshielded speakers annoys me at times but its not that regular an occurence. As for unlocking; that's a simple matter, perfectly legal as far as I know and easily accomplished contract or no contract. You go to a phone shop and say unlock this phone, pay the guy a tenner and its done.
