It’s your opinion, I respect it, even though I am shocked by it*.

There are ideas that help, like HANS or SAFER, and there are overreactions like this one. Plenty of other things can go wrong, and all of them have everything to do with the nature of the sport. If you want F1 to be as safe as possible, scrap it and rename WEC as F1.

We’ve discussed here why it is not a good movie. Watchable, even enjoyable, but definitely not good.

Thank you! Finally, one thing from this guy that can I agree with.

If you are interested and you have time to waste, I suggest making some research into another British brushfire war of the period - Aden emergency.

I’m not sure what do you mean by Tora Tora Tora being an “open-ended story”. I really love that movie because it looks more like a really impressive docu-drama, with no BS love side stories present in too many war movies of the time. I also don’t see why it should have any fight back story or anything like it; it is

No! God, no! The movie is watchable, but it doesn’t belong on any list of the good movies. Great cast, great production, but it is a horrible mess of stock footage, previous movies and some new stuff. For anyone who knows anything about aviation or history, or has seen Tora Tora Tora and Battle of Britain, that movie

I’m gonna need to re-watch it.

But Hot Shots is a great movie! Iron Eagle is a dumb piece of crap.

An interesting historical fact: During the Indonesian Confrontation, RAF had dusted off some late-model Spitfires in order to train Lightning pilots on how to deal with the Indonesian Mustangs.

Now I’m confused and I no longer know what are we talking about, but lets’ talk cruisers. I do want them back and that is an AA cruiser. If you want to talk cruisers, you’re gonna need a bigger boat:

I don’t remember seeing the F-14 in a Crimson Tide. It was filmed on a French carrier.

Let’s not forget the Tora Tora Tora; I would lists it as the second best after the Battle of Britain (as an aviation movie), only because the latter has some actual famous actors, and more stories revolving around them. Both of them are not movies that would seriously engage your brain like some other, more dramatic

But, hands down, the best aviation movie of all times is this:

    Muffled Cheeki Breeki incoming.

YES! Snake Plissken on a plane!

What does that tell you about the quality of those episodes?

It was a counterpoint to your silly battleships argument. USN has 22 cruisers and it is 21st century right now. And one cruiser was actually sunk during the Falklands war.

You are seriously mistaken/ignorant. One of the foremost things that USN lacks are the new anti-ship missiles, something that was seriously neglected since the end of the Cold war.
